And not the caucasian american?
How can it be racist when it affects EVERY race?
He's too delusional and possibly stupid, to comprehend how flawed his little theory is.

Really. It's only racist if it only people from one race are affected by the rule. So if we pass a law in the United States that says only people with one million dollars in a bank account can vote or run for any political office... that law would not have any racism involved at all?
Before you tell me and montsho we dont know what racism is... maybe you should figure out how it works in the 21st century.
Every other sport out there you can be a pro at 18. Make millions..even tour the world. But not basketball or the NFL. Those 18 year olds are just to immature. Got it. Not racist at all... just like the millionaire rule.. it effects all people equally.. well some a little more equally than others.. but that's the point, right?
I mean shit.. according to your flawed logic the Poll Taxes used in southern states wasnt racist at all... after all..even white people paid them. WOW.

No, money isn't a race.

Here's how it works in the 21st century. One color trumps every other color and that color is green. Especially in professional sports.

It's been explained several times in this thread why the NFL and NBA are different.

Not racism, but certainly is discrimination in different ways. The better question is, how would that be racist?
If it were proven that a black athlete is less likely to qualify for college and the rule was that a player must attend college for 2 years before he was eligible to play in the NBA or NFL, then you and Flauge might have a leg to stand on in your argument that it's racist.
The rule in the NFL existed before the league was mostly black players. So, it wasn't set up to keep certain players out. The D-League is not a true farm system for the NBA, yet. But that may be where it's headed and as I have said earlier in the thread, could be a viable option for those who do not wish to attend college or play overseas.
An NFL practice squad consists of approximately 5-6 players, so that hardly qualifies as a farm system. The game of football does not lend itself to having a farm system that would work. The game is too violent for that and the risk of injury on any play is too great.
Additionally, since most players in the NBA and NFL are black and since most of the stars in those leagues are black, it would be pretty stupid to keep a player out of the league because of his race. Both leagues make billions from having these players playing and they're not likely to want to lose that. Green trumps every other color, every time.
So by your logic, if a white 17 year old wants to enter the NBA but can't because of this rule, that's racist?
Yes because we can pretend its silly but we all know that the vast majority of NBA basketball players are Black and as a result will be affected way more than any white player. Sort of like giving 20 years for possession of crack cocaine and 2 years for regular cocaine. Yes some white people will get 20 but the vast majority of them are going to get 2 while the opposite will be true for Black people.

this never ends. Look, put your kid thru college, all bills paid at these top schools these kids are "stuck at" for a year, you could give an education to someone that will use it. You want to pay the kids to play college sports? then let them pay for their education too.
Goddamn you morons are pathetic. It's NOT a racist rule. The league owners are NOT going to hurt their own pocketbooks, to discriminate against the people who are the main contributors of the product they put on the court, ie their bread winners.
It really is that simple.
I can't believe that even this thread turned into a race/racism debate. The NBA can try to sell this as good for the kids but if it's not good for their pockets, it's not happening. Even after one year of school a lot of the players getting drafted aren't ready and there isn't enough film on them in 30 or so games to really know what they might do in the NBA. So the owners are still stuck paying high dollars to guys who never pan out. It wasn't that long ago that even the best players in the country stayed 3 or 4 years in college. They were more mature physically and mentally. The league has suffered because of these boys coming into the league and 1 stupid ass year in college isn't enough. I said from the start if it's not 2 years you might as well let high schoolers in. And of course if the kids don't want to play for an education for 2 years, they can go to Europe.
Crack cocaine sentences have long been much more harsh than those for powder cocaine. The disparity started in the 1980s, when crack cocaine started to ravish urban black communities in America. The federal government sought to crack down on the problem by implementing severe prison sentences for those people caught dealing crack cocaine. For example, someone caught with powder cocaine would have to have 100 grams of the drug to get the same sentence as someone caught with just one gram of crack cocaine.
The thought behind the thinking was that the harsh sentences would deter people from dealing the drug. However, not only did it fail at that, it also had the unintended consequence of focusing disproportionately on blacks. Because black people were the main users of the drugs, they were also the main dealers of it. That means that most of the people receiving the longer sentences have been black people. People across the country have long disputed this issue. Those who saw it as racism have fought to make the two drugs, which are both cocaine just in different forms, equal in terms of sentencing. They believe that people with the same amount of the drugs should be sentenced similarly.
Getting emotional doesnt prove anything. Your business savvy and reading comprehension leaves something to be desired. They are not hurting their pockets. They are getting a seasoned product and a better gauge on if the player is worth the investment which is something they can do by simple not drafting borderline players. Its really that simple.

Why doesnt the league just not draft borderline players? No one is forcing them to.
