VT is a tough team....... They've an above average defense and as good as any team in the Big 10

HAHA of course you would.......You can't stand the SEC so why would I think otherwise? SEC is still the best and that's the end of the story.

But here's some good news for you CP................Da'Shawn Hand, No. 6 prospect in ESPN 300, commits to Alabama Crimson Tide - ESPN

See Alabama just helped you guys stay on top for another year........The rich just keep getting richer! You should be thanking them!

In the Big Ten I would compare Virginia Tech to Iowa The Hokies were a whopping 7-6 last yar playing in the weak ACC.

On the other hand Bama I get it. I would rather play Florida State over an Ohio State, Oregon, or Stanford.

I'd love to play Stanford cause they play the same style of football, only they aren't as good.

No man, I'd take playing OSU over Florida State in a heart beat. They worry me more than any other team. Bama isn't as strong on defense as the other NC teams the last few years but they are still a good team. I'm sweating the Auburn game for sure and the SEC championship game if they beat Auburn.

OSU needs too losses ahead of them to reach the National Championship game...

If all 4 contenders win out... the Final BCS poll will look like this.

1) Bama
2) FSU
3) Baylor
4) Ohio State

OSU gets MURDERED because of a very, very weak schedule, and there aren't any more "challenge" games left, unless you count Michigan... which Ohio State will probably be favored by close to 20 in.

Florida States Win over both Clemson and Miami, will EASILY be better than anything Ohio State could do this season, and they get the nod over OSU, without question because of that.

If Baylor and Alabama win out, there is no question that their body of work will be better than OSU's as well.

OSU needs two of those 4 teams to lose to make the National Title game.

Don't do the annoying thing where anyone that criticizes your team must be a "jealous hater". It's the stuff of someone that is wrong and has to result to the equivalent of name-calling.

If you think Colorado State, Tennessee-Chattanooga and VA Tech is a non-con schedule worthy of the best team in the Nation...well, I'd say you are drunk. The first two are a joke and VA Tech...I think you lost everyone trying to convince them they are a legit foe (not that their signature win this year over 5-4 Boston College wasn't impressive).

Since you asked (even though you've made it clear you will laugh heartily not matter what the response)...I think Florida State and Baylor would make a much more entertaining and worthy matchup (at this point).

If a Bama fan needs any proof that being undefeated doesn't make you worthy of being in the NC game, they need only look to last year when Notre Dame fell into that game and embarrassed the BCS system and bored the nation by looking like a high school team against Bama.

Let me make sure I understand you. You think that Baylor is more worthy of a NC bid if they go undefeated over Alabama? And your reason is the non con? Did you look at Baylor's non con schedule before you wrote that? Look, you can say you can think that match up is more entertaining, but to say those teams are more worthy is comical.

Alabama is right now clearly the best team in football. This non con stuff is just stupid. When you play in a really tough league like the SEC and the PAC12 (I would have included big 10 or big XII, but they are down this year), you don't need to play a tough non con to give you a good strength of schedule. What is the motivation?

Just to emphasize my point even more, Alabama's SOS is 41, Baylor's is 85, Florida St's is 58 and Ohio St's is 72. Yeah, clearly Alabama's non con should penalize them. Alabama will have to lose to not be in the NC game (rightfully so) and a loss still might not allow Ohio St to pass them.

I'm not really concerned with strength of schedule. Alabama is good but they aren't great and there is a good chance they would lose to Baylor. Look at the only tough offense they played being Texas A&M and they put 42 points on them. Last week a not so great Mississippi State gave them a challenge playing with backup quarterbacks.

All four undefeated teams at the top today are all good and I think any one of them is capable of beating any of the other.

Truth is the BCS and these polls are bogus. Every year they pile all these SEC teams at the top and when they lose to each other they drop them just a little bit. South Carolina is ranked tenth and they have lost two games one to Georgia at 6-4 and the other to a bad Tennessee team that is 4-6. On the other hand Arizona State in nineteenth and has lost to Notre Dame and Stanford. Meanwhile they have beaten Wisconsin and USC. Tell me these polls aren't a joke. Also I am not a Pac 12 fan but it is this year hands down the toughest conference I college football.

Ohio State will get Michigan State and many believe the Spartans have the best defense in the country. Truth is Cakes all four of these teams have relatively weak schedules.

As for the SEC I agree that at one time the conference was rock solid but the last several years its nowhere near what it was then. Conferences go up and down. The Pac 12 today is the strongest in college football.

SEC is very down this year. The conference is just not that impressive like it has been in the past.

I'm not saying Baylor's non-con is impressive (it's not), but the way they have beaten everyone is. They put up 70 points regularly and not a single game has been close.

I think it's sad that the four teams we are talking about all have such cowardly-looking non-cons. If just one of them set up a legit opponent outside of conference there probably would be no room for debate. I understand setting up a few cupcakes as it's nice for smaller programs to face elite ones from time to time ($$$, recruiting, etc.), but have some dignity!

There are 3-4 PAC 12 teams not in this discussion that probably should be.

I heard on the radio a week or so back that Vegas would have at least four teams (and maybe 5) as favorites to beat the #2 in the SEC were they to play at that time (Missouri).

I think the Pac 12 is stronger than the Big 10, that's for sure... but that doesn't mean it's the strongest in college football.... Those teams just aren't going to be able to stand up to a team with a dominant front 7.

Ohio States schedule has been complete cream puff Scorps... compared to that of Alabamas.... their toughest game was against Wisconsin... a solid team, yet unspectacular, and they had them at home.

Alabama still has played tougher competition, and has tougher competition coming still than what Ohio State will have played....

I don't really care about the Out of conference argument... that only matters when you are talking about teams that play inept CONFERENCE schedules... and sadly... Ohio State can pretty much mark down 10-0 every season and pray that Michigan has a pulse...

Ohio State will probably be a 20+ point favorite over Michigan... They really didn't have a "challenge" game all season.

The Pac 12... especially Oregon got exposed. Stanford is more of an SEC team in the way it plays than any other Pac 12 team, and Oregon can't do anything against them.

When the Ducks played the National Championship game against Auburn.... the Tigers had one of the WORST defenses in the SEC that year, and they virtually shut down Oregon's frenetic fast paced attack. The blueprint has been set for most of the Pac-12 teams... they all play like Video games over there, and that's all well and good when facing other "video game" teams...

If they had to play on the East, where teams like Ohio State,Florida State, or the SEC is waiting for them, they'd get beat up.

Oregon was also exposed by Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. Still the Pac 12 is the best conference in college football. I could say the Alabama defense was exposed by Texas A&M and they were.

CP you are so butt hurt it isn't even funny...........The SEC is still the best conference. Doesn't matter how many times you say they aren't, just deal with it. OSU isn't even a top 5 team and Baylor is going to jump them also long as they don't lose any games.

Yeah you could say they got exposed or you could say they take care of business and won. Texas A&M has the best offense in the country as they put those numbers up in the toughest conference in college football each week. OSU will get exposed in it's bowl game.

You are jealous and you do hate the SEC it's ok. But don't sit here and lie about it. I hated USC when they owned college football and was just plain sick of them playing in the NC every year. But i sure loved when Texas kicked that butt! It's human nature to feel that way, the only difference between you and me is I can admit it!

Baylor? Did you say Baylor???????? They are more deserving because well you think it's a better matchup? ROFL............Come on man. You would of loved to of said Oregon, but they did the big choke job. Then I know you wish you could of said Stanford.......But they took a big dump also.............So now it's Baylor. You really do hate the SEC and Bama with all your heart.

Oh and don't you SEC haters ever think it's like a broken record to say the SEC is down this year. According to you guys it's down every year. I sure will hate it for you guys when the SEC is back up on it's feet again cause the damage they will do to the rest of college football is just unthinkable and down right scary as hell.!

The Big Ten has three teams I the top twenty five. That's more than the ACC. The Big Ten has the second best overall record in playing teams out of their conference. Now Ohio State started the season off ranked number two in the country. I've been watching college football for a long time and if you start the season out ranked second and beat all of your opponents easily then you don't get passed by two other teams and maybe three. ESPN hates the Big Ten because they have their own network. In fact they have even convinced ex Ohio State player Kirk Herbstreit to hate his alma mater and give hero worship the SEC. So Ohio State has now won 22 straight games in a row and the power of ESPN has made it sound like its no big deal. Urban Meyer is right the polls are extremely biased and BS.

Bama all you do is talk nonstop SEC bullshit. My god maybe we should just let the two top teams in the SEC play for the National Championship every year and the rest of the country can just play for the remaining bowls. I mean you probably would agree with what I just said. I don't even know why so many Ohio State players get drafted in the NFL. I don't know why every supposed great Alabama running back is an NFL bust.

NCAA football

Big Ten has 41 National Championships and the SEC has 24.

Minnesota has more than any team in the SEC other than Alabama.

Even for you Scorps... that was a pretty lame argument.

How far back do you want to go ?????

Minnesota hasn't won a National Championship since 1960, and even then... they shared it with an SEC Team.

Hell... why didn't you bring up the fact that the first 31 years that Football recognized a National Champion....

All 31 of them were IVY League schools....

During the Modern age of college football.... the Big 10 has HARDLY dominated.... Hell, you can go back 30 years... 40 years... and they STILL don't dominate.
