As a Sooner fan, I am have always liked Mack. He can be a bit of a politician at times, but that's the game. Comparing him to someone like Lane Kiffin is an insult to the profession of coaching. Kiffin is a nobody.

Mack Brown is far worse.

Compared to Kiffin, Mack does less with more: Mack has the best-funded college football program and the best recruiting grounds in the country. Kiffin has less resources and has to deal with sanctions, and even then still got USC to 10-2 a couple years ago.

He has been head coach at 2 programs!! Tennessee and USC!!

Tennessee has had 1 winning season since 2006 or 2007: Kiffin was the coach!!

He has been at USC for 2 full seasons. In his first 2 he posted the second best first 2 year record in USC history and that's with a program under sanctions that everyone said would lead to a bunch of 5-7, 4-8 type records.

In his 4 total years as a college head coach, he has had one season in which his team has not met or exceeded expectations, that was last year!! Clearly, he turns all of these many programs that he has coached to shit!!

I'm not saying he's a great coach or even a good coach!! Criticize him all you want, but at least bring facts and not teenage girl hysteria!!

And for the record, I'd say Mack is the better coach!! At least he has the better resume'!!

I can't believe how you consistently defend that piece of shit. He CANNOT coach. He recruits well. If not for that he would have us in even worse shape. He is a lying scumbag and I can't wait until the day he gets terminated.

I think there is no doubt it is Lane Kiffin. He is failing epically with elite talent. He has hugely under performed every year but 2011, and you can make the case he also under performed that year also.

Mack Brown on the other hand had an amazing run at UT from 2001 to 2009 with double digit wins every year.

Hell I mean just look at the W/L stats:
Mack Brown: 151-45
Lane Kiffin: 27-14

Mack Brown may be under performing right now but at least he has an amazing track record behind him. Kiffin was never considered a good coach. Brown at one point was considered a great coach.
