Mine was a 1971 Pontiac LeMans.
After 2 transmissions, 10 speeding tickets, and 2 accidents (not my fault), I sold it for $100.
(it actually still ran)

Yeah, only mine was "Grasshopper Green". I still don't know why it was called that because it was more metallic sea green than anything.

1981 Buick Regal. We called it the "love machine" because the backseat had magical powers that made women take off their clothes. I sold it for a couple grand to some Mexican so he could turn t into a low rider. With the money I got from him and the money I had saved up I bought a 1973 blazer. I miss both of those vehicles.

Mine was an '81 Honda CIVIC hatchback that I bought off of my folks after graduating from College in '86. Two years later I traded it in as part of my down payment on my next car, an '88 Volkwagon Fox.

87 Ford T-Bird. Looked like the pic below, except I wrecked mine a week after getting it. The front end was destroyed, and instead of getting it repaired, I stuffed all of the pieces in one of those "bras" you can get.

Ha... my first car was an '89 Beretta... that thing went everywhere, even halfway up a sand dune once. I wrecked the front end and sold it, we were driving in some slow traffic going over a busy highway overpass and everyone in my car, including me turned our heads to oogle a Jeep Wrangler full of half naked sweaty high school girls... my foot never really went to the brake, and I attacked some guy's trailer hitch. I probably could have salvaged the car, but I sold it for $500 and bought an old '84 Gutless Cutless.

'63 Dodge Dart 4dr, with the 170ci slant 6 and 3-on-the-tree. Parents bought it at the state surplus auction for my older sister. A couple years later, she had a job, bought a new car and gave me the Dart. I nearly missed a corner, hit a rebar re-inforced concrete sign that kept me from going into a ditch but the repair was going to cost more than the car was worth. Even though it still ran perfect, it was totalled.

First car was a 63 Dodge Coronet Paid $500 for it . 383 engine G60 rear tires , Air shocks made it look nasty @ the time . Unfortunately it had 2b carb. Seemed any derelict w/ a street rod wanted to test me. Hell even non rods wanted to. Got embarrassed alot. But it did get my choice of chicks. That's all that matters. I ran it to the ground . And bought a new a Datsun 240z.

If you only knew what potential you had there. With a dual exhaust and 4bbl carb, you'd have been embarrassing all the challengers. I ran the 383 in my 3rd car ('66 Fury conv ) and always launched a fender length on everyone that wanted to try me. A good low - mid RPM cam would also wake up that engine.

At the time I was a fulltime college student working @ the time at a full service gas station. Yeah I actually pumped your gas , and all the other shit.
I just bought the car because I could afford it at the time . My buddies were the caraholics. Who actually found it for me. I know what potential the car had , hence my note about the 2b carb. I'm just not a car Junkie. But I am fairley new to the site. And giving my thoughts to the new boards I visit.
I appreciate your reply. :suds:

Misty Green 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6. 12 Bolt 456 gear posi. Cowl Induction hood.

I bought it in 1978 at age 16 for $800 from a chick I was bangin' who's dad had bought it for her and she didn't like it. My dad told me I couldn't buy it, but I did anyway and kept it parked in front of a buddy's house about a block away.
My dad found out I'd bought it about 5 months later when he came home from work early and I was tuning it up in our driveway. I had changed the oil, put in new plugs, points, condenser, distributer cap, and had the timing light on it. He was pissed at first "so you bought it anyway" until he started asking me about the tune up and realized I knew what I was doing. I offered him to drive it and he said "no, you're parking it in the street" and went into the house.
By the end of the first winter I'd side swiped two light poles sliding while going down hills (not smart enough to put it in neutral). On snow all I had to do was put it in gear and the wheels would spin without ever touching the gas. Not real bad damage just scrapes.
I went into the military in 1981 and had no place to keep it and didn't know how long I'd be gone so I put it in the newspaper classifieds. A guy from Iowa drove down and bought it on spot for $1200. He tracked me down in like 1995 and told me he'd returned it to complete stock condition and had been showing it for 10 years or so nationally and won a lot of trophies. There wasn't much for him to do. All I'd done was put Mickey Thomson 50's on it with Cragar rims, and Thrush pipes.
I still had the stock SS rims which I gave him when he bought it. I also had a spare grill, 2 front fenders and a hood that I gave him. I wish I still had that car.
It would boil those 50's and the fastest quarter I ever did was 13.3 which wasn't bad for a stock motor.

The car in this video is the same thing, Misty Green and all.

My first car was a black 1946 ford. I paid $ 150.00 in 1959. Got drafted and sold it for $ 75.00 to have money to leave on. End of story.

First car was a maroon 1989 Mustang GT very similar to the one pictured.

33807d1090885618-fs-1990-mustang-gt-5-0-2000-im001302.jpg

Eventually turned it into a 347 with a 100 shot of nitrous before selling it. Bought my 1996 Cobra afterwards that got a Novi 2000RR.

1965 Coupe DeVille. Black with red leather interior. It was a hand-me-down from dad who picked it up cheap. He was head of the dept of installment loans and had an inside track on the repos which is what it was. It was owned by a pimp who got sent up for a few years. I got it in 73 and it got about 5 MPG. It wasn't in great shape when I got it....it drove like a pig but it was a great party boat and chick magnet for a couple of years. It basically fell apart internally and dad got what he could for it.
