yes the skyline is pretty but it doesnt mesh well with our honolulu blue. it looks like i am completely out numbered on that opinion but anyways.

i like the current one a bit better than the new #1. like i said replace the stomp with the shove and we have a winner, but if it is a choice between the new 2 i go with #1.

I like the new #2. I think it was a great idea(like I mentioned) about putting Barry in there. The Spielman touch was nice as well as the faded look.

#2 is also clean, but adds the city and fades on the older players like spirits from the past.

I like the idea of adding some Lion legends. I will say I think the middle of the one we have up now blows away all the others. It's fresh and new using the current look. We can def move the pieces around it around.

We got lots of ideas, so I'll be anxious to see what he comes up with.

I like the faded legends, I'd also like to see what they look like in black and white and faded black and white possibly.

I definitely think the current middle should stay- it's very smooth and professional.

Let's all come up with some current and former players for possibilities:

Current- Stafford, Megatron, Suh, Bush, Ansah, Tulloch, Fairley, Houston, Slay
Former- Barry, Spielman, Herman Moore, Night Train Lane, Bobby Layne, Mel Gray, Dick Lebeau, Corey Schlesinger, Brett Perriman


Obviously only a few of those guys make the cut, I'm just trying to cover all bases...

I dont know if they will want to deal with having to switch it at certain times. I do like how this is going however. To me it has moved away from a poll or contest and into a mode of everyone putting up some input and working towards one we all like.

The last #2 is my personal favorite right now. I would be just as happy with the #1 if I added the fade with Sanders and Spielman on that one.

My thoughts on the banner is this....
The banner IMO, should represent the Detroit Lions and no others. No players from other teams, even if those players are being crushed by Suh. I dont want the banner to represent problems we have had with players. No shots of Suh stomping or whipping a player down. I wanted it to show the players as if they had just made a big play, in their moment of excitement. I chose to use the action shots on the greats in a faded shot as if its a memory we hold on to. Personally I like the skyline because however you want to look at it, the Lions represent Detroit. When they look good, nobody in the national media is going to talk about how good it is for Michigan for them to be playing well. They will say how great it is for Detroit. So I wanted to display a good and cool image of Detroit. However little display this will get, every good promotion for Detroit is needed right now.

Those are the things I want in the banner. I will be happy if they are not all there, but happier if they are all there. If RobBase' friend puts one together like that and it is picked over what I put, I would not be bothered in the slightest. I just want the best banner up there to represent the Lions and nothing that trolls from other teams can come over and rip on. No displays of anything I am not proud of, but only the things that makes me proud I have been a Lions fan since the early 80's.

If you take choice #1 jayfan has and replace Speilman with Bobby Layne I think that gets us there. Don't want too many Legends, just the 2 best with our big 3. Lets keep it classic, no stomps or pimps, or anything else outlandish.

And I agree. Every morning I open up the board, see Suh stomping on cheese and Matty the Pimp body rocking hoes and smiling about being a pimp - well it puts a smile on my face too. Just sayin!!

When I see the Suh stomp it's a bitter reminder of another nationally televised Thanksgiving game that slipped away because of stupid mistakes, bad luck, bad refs, and poor coaching.

Not a happy memory for Lions Nation...
