I'd give Kinsler a shot and let Andrus or gentry hit leadoff

Hamilton was never dropped to fifth. Young filled in some. Is that who you want?
I agree 100%. It would be worth a shot. Change a few roles and see how the players respond. Put more pressure on Kinsler to be an RBI-producer. Temporarily take some of the pressure off Josh. See what the speedy duo of Gentry and Andrus can do when paired together at the top.
The current formula clearly isn't working and hasn't been since May. I really fail to see how shuffling the lineup could hurt the team. Instead of scoring 1 run we score 0?
the rangers wont win a world series with young batting 5th. he has virtually no pop this season and just isnt producing nearly as much as last season.
Cruz should be switched with Young.

Young is on the downside of his career. I heard a sports show host talk about stats that showed the average batting average of players in their 30s from their best year there is a significant drop in the next season.Young has no business being in the lineup every game. Its part of the problem with this offense.Napoli is not hitting 300,neither is Cruz and Hamilton. We are going to lose more pitiful games like the one last night
I Guess Hamilton didn't give a shit about what Nolan said because he gave away pretty much every at bat tonight. I've gotten where I can't stand to watch him. He has this awful "I don't give a shit" body language about him that makes it hard to watch him. And maybe he does give a shit but it just doesn't look like it to me.
Napoli season last year was a fluke, he isn't and shouldn't be expected to be a .300 hitter, if Napoli hits .260+ with power and drawing walks, you should be happy with that, luckily he's looked more like that player recently, he's being patient and waiting for his pitch, though he's still missing some pitches out over the plate
Same thing with Cruz, although he's a slightly better hitter, he's not as patient as Napoli and has been even less patient and disciplined this year, when he's drawing walks and waiting for his pitch, he's dangerous
Hamilton is a legit .300+ hitter, and his approach isn't much different than years past, but he's expanded his strike zone too far out over the plate and pitchers don't have to throw him strikes there anymore, PLUS he's missing the few pitches he's actually gotten over the plate recently
Young = No bat speed AND he's even more stubborn than Hamilton at this point about taking a pitch and drawing a walk, all this talk about Hamilton and Young's the one who hasn't done squat since APRIL
I guess you didn't see him go slam his helmet in the dugout after the RBI? He definitely doesn't have a "I don't care" attitude. He's just lost.
Yeh, I saw that too and it suprised me. I wonder if Josh just chooses to not let the opposing pitcher see him get frustrated.
They're both awful and are crippling our offense. Wash is also crippling it by leaving MY in the 5 hole every day.
I concur. Its a ridiculous notion that Young is some power hitter. When it comes right down to it,we have no fearful offensive attack. It boggles the mind to consider if not for Hamilton's ground out with a runner at 3rd last night Rangers would have been shutout by a horrible pitcher.
With the Angels and As hot on our trail I am fearful that the Rangers will lose their lead in the division by August and wind up one of the biggest choke artists of the decade
