Fanbase, myself included would have rioted. Shows what I know. That said, just one more example of why as long as Dan owned this team, we never had a chance.
I would,nt have,I preferred luck despite knowing it would,nt happen.i always took rgme to be the all about me shitstain he is to this day.

I wanted RG3. He was unbelievable in 2012. I had no idea that he was as self-absorbed as he was.

I have told this story before but here goes again.

I was 100% opposed to drafting Griffin. I was in Quantico, VA having lunch with my GF and her daughter, we walked out of the restaurant and I saw Mike had drafted Cousins and I fist pumped. I didn't know what Cousins would be but I knew he was better QB than Griffin. I was right about Griffin and Cousins was much better than RGIII.

The most surprising part of the interview to me was RG3s dad coming in the locker room and talking about play calls.

RG3 on social media does not seem like the guy that has his dad so involved in his professional life.

RG3 walked into Mike's office and started drawing up plays, saying these are the plays me and my dad don't feel I should run anymore. RG2 was wild.

When referring to ego and entitlement, RGIII was no different then Theesman (I know...sp) The on field difference was one that saw Joe come into an organization that from top to bottom didn't allow that shit and Robert's environment was full of folks just like himself. The results speak for themselves, as do the conversations pointing to the participants and not the dysfunction.

Bobby 3 Sticks was absolutely absurd on social media during his tenure here. All about the brand and himself. He’s humbled himself a bit these days but he was an egomaniac during his time here.

’All in for week 1’ and his accompanying video documentary after his ACL tear tells ya all ya need to know about who he was and how little he cared about the concept of team

I was a pup when Joe was the QB. I was old enough to remember his play on the field, but not old enough to know what was going on behind the scenes. I thought all the players loved Joe.

Wasn't he willing to return punts just to get on the field. Threw a great block with no front teeth during a game. I've never heard the stories other than he was a playboy.

I remember watching games with my grandad and he really disliked ‘Theeseman’ the person. Every time he had the chance he’d deride Joe as an opportunist who changed the way his last name was pronounced to rhyme with Heisman in college. There’s a reason he was called the ‘Joe, the mouth’ back in the day.

Yeah, I knew that, but I always thought he had the respect of his teammates. I remember RG3 getting sacked and not one person went over there to help him out. I'm not pushing back, I'm legit wanting to know from the OGs on this board what the story was.

Theismann and RGme the same guy. Not even close. Joe supported his teammates at every turn. If I remember correctly it was Joe that went to Gibbs and said he couldn't run the offense. Joe never saw a microphone that he didn't like but he was an "it's all about me." He was a womanizer. Sonny and Billy loved to go to the bar.

kbso, you are correct. Joe went and asked to return punts so he could help the team. Joe was not popular with many of the fans, most thought he talked too much. So your dad was just being like many fans when it came to Joe.

Oddly enough and this is my opinion when people saw him break his leg on TV some fans gave him a bit more credit, not to mention the SB win.

To compare RGme to Joey T is hilarious.

Don't believe anything that comes from unsourced places on this topic. I'm just about ready to post real-time stories and quotes from Theesman himself.

Looking forward to it! I remember a lot of fan rumblings when he succeeded Kilmer. My main memory is he was disliked by a lot of fans cuz he was always talking. my dad and granddad were super old school and wanted to see skill on the field, not blabbering to the press.

i dont have a sense of how his teammates felt about him in the early days.

As a boy I just remember always seeing him on TV doing Cannon camera commercials and seeing on the local news that he had an affair with some woman named Cathy Lee Crosby.

I loved Joe. I remember I was living in Springfield, VA when he broke his leg. I run downstairs and yelled to my mom that Joe got hurt. I'll never forget she was sitting at a foldout table playing cards with three of her friends. She looked up and said, "he'll be fine." Lol
