Patriots will host the Philadelphia Eagles.

Eagles will fly in on Monday and there will be a full padded scrimmage and practice Tuesday.

Both teams will have walk throughs and film sessions on Wednesday.

This game should give us an idea of where the Patriots are against the iron of the NFL. For a quarter of the game.

Right now, there is no national television coverage. Only local Boston and Philly networks are carrying the game. Subject to change.

Just a small note................

Eagles are rated #5 in the power rankings.

I think Brissett and Maye will play more than a single series.

First defense should be out there for at least a full quarter.

I expect the Patriots to lose this one. Somewhere around 24-10.

If they give up less than 20 and score more than 10, this will really be the start of a turn-around.

Let Brissett play the entire first quarter, let Maye play the entire second quarter, and let Milton the 3rd play the entire second half.

Win does not matter.
Score does not matter.
Opponent does not matter.

Just enjoy watching the players trying to improve.......

I would like to see more of Maye, currently wondering if he's QB1 QB2 or QB3

Watched the Eagles and Ravens game. No starters played. Eagles won 16-13 with six seconds left. Ravens stopped Eagles twice on 1st and goal. They shut them down with a 1st and goal at the 7 with 2:00 left. On the first play with 11 seconds left in the game, the Ravens QB fumbled after Elliot had mussed a 50 yd FG. Eagles had one QB sneak, called a TO and Elliot kick a 49 yarder to end it.

The Eagles will be here for "controlled" practice on Tuesday and a game Thursday. My guess is that they will start their regulars for at least a quarter.

Just glad that the Patriots played everyone if only for a series.

Maye looking good in his two drives. Josh Allen type run TD there.

Starting the 4th Quarter and the defense gets a 8 yard sack in the red zone. Then the eagles jump for 5 more.

They are just refusing to give up the TD.

Eagles kick their second FG and the Patriots lead 10-6.

Wish I'd bet the +3.5

There’s the Milton I remember from college. Runs the wrong play. Has zero touch on short passes and doesn’t get down on his scrambling and takes/issues big hits. Not smart.

I have an axe to grind. I know that preseason is meant to separate the wheat from the chaff. But Mayo or Van Pelt made a huge mistake putting Fornadel at center for the final set of plays. Every QB had a problem with every center to start their series, except Zappe. Fornadel really screwed the team with that horrible snap that never reached Zappe and gave the ball back to the Eagles. He was so intent on his post snap block that the ball never got three inches off the ground. Zappe was moving the team and I would have bet my pool that he would have given Ryland the chance to kick a 45 yard FG to end the game 16-14.

Just bad decisions at a critical time in a game.

It’s preseason. The coaching staff has been trying different offensive linemen at different positions since day 1 of camp. The coaching staff didn’t make a bad decision, Fornadel made a bad play. I guess they should have put Andrew’s back in? There were 3-4 bad snaps in the game. They are trying to figure this horrible situation at offensive line out. And they did to some extent. Fornadel isn’t a good center.

I can't disagree. But....big BUT. Coaches are also trying to get their shit together and they have to make "game" decisions and get their practice time in. David Andrews did not play last night. Four different guys played center because the staff has to find a suitable backup, just in case. In a final two minute drill, it's a poor decision to put someone in cold. I'll give him credit that all of his snaps prior to the game ender were fair to good. All of the shotgun snaps were a bit low. During the two timeouts at the two minute warning the OL coach should have gone to him and said, try to get your snaps up just a bit. He would have been concentrating more on his snap than the DL across from him.

Like you said, wheat and chaff.

Imagine if you will, they get to 9-7, they are in their final game with a chance with a win to secure a wild card spot.
60 yards to go in the last minute and they're down by 1.
Andrews goes down.

Do you want to find out then that Fornadel will get flustered under pressure?

His high school/college coaches should have told him years ago, get it up, keep it up.

This is exactly what preseason is for. Make mistakes now and learn from them so they don't happen when the games count. I hope he gets a lot of snaps in the remaining game/s.
