No chance they move away from Watson until next year at the earliest if they have to. Too much money invested.

The only way they move away from him before 2026 is if they can find a trade partner IMO. I have no idea who that might be. Is Fields' leash getting short yet?

Next year is a big stretch if you say the cap hits and dead cap money.

The biggest issues with Watson are anticipatory throws. The good thing is those things can be fixed working with the offense and just more time....I truly hope lol

Fields isn't an upgrade and his ceiling as of right now is not better than Watsons' so I really don't get this idea.

I wasn't thinking of Fields to the Browns, just Watson to the Bears. That franchise is historically QB-desperate.

They would need to revamp the FO and coaching staff before trading for Watson-offense doesn't fit Watson. That only makes sense bc the Bears have the cap and future cap to do so.

The Bears could enter the Caleb Williams discussions soon

I suggested they trade Fields this spring and draft Young (or the QB of their preference), but that was laughed down. Instead they traded down twice.

Are we certain that offense fits Fields? I more structured approach would seem desperately needed (and they have the RBs and at least 1 WR and TE to support it).

I don't think it fits Fields either. The Bears are a mess

Probably for the best...

It's definitely a step in the right direction. Imo, no way either survives trying to compete with each other and the NFL.

Imo, their next move should be to partner with the NFL to be sort of a minor/developmental league for the NFL.

I can’t believe the Bears laughed you down

I think college football is going to beat them to that. It’s just a matter of time until the 3 year thing with the draft is challenged and done away with. The nfl has had it good with a free developmental league but everything changes when that happens.

Agree. Always said that from the gitty-up. Develop players that have a shot at being NFL material...
