It is not hind sight. Everybody wanted OL and there were higher ranked players available on the OL when we chose.

I would have taken John Michael Schmitz, O’Cyrus Torrence, or Cody Mauch in that order.
I think you misinterpreted what I said. Had Washington taken JMS or O'Cyrus (which I would have been in favor of) who do you draft in the 3rd round. That is where the hind sight comes in. No need to draft Stromberg in the 3rd at that point.

Everyone kinda knew the oline wasn't good enough. Wylie got beat a couple of times by a really good end. Everyone else on the line did their job for the most part.

I'm more concerned that Watson walked his offense down the field on our first team defense.

Howell looks like he belongs in this league at a minimum. Best case scenario, we might have solved the QB issue. Jacoby dropped two tuff ones right in the bucket. It's comforting having him in the building.

Hoping Logan is okay because it does appear TE will be used quite a bit in this offense. Cole Turner. I'm hoping he can find a way to stay on the field. So much potential there.

Hot take......Dotson has a higher ceiling than McLaurin.

Chase almost got home. Gonna have to GET HOME if he wants his money.

Sweat is so good in the run.

JDR still hasn't figured out how to contain mobile QBs. FYI this division has Dak, Jalen, and Jones.

Watched the film on Forbes. We got us one.

Slye is creating distance for himself.

The Baltimore game will reveal a lot. We'll know exactly what we have and don't have after that game.

This game didn't change much for me. Still have us around 7-10.

Holmes appears to have taken a giant step. JP has been talking him up for weeks. Scot McCloughan said he had a 2nd round grade on Rodriguez. He fell because he plead guilty to a DUI.

im kind of surprised at the prediction kbso. IF you believe Howell can be a QB in this league we should do well this year. I think that is why Vegas put us at 6.5-win total b/c of the unknown at the QB position. I agree the oline will be shakey this year unless Paul and Cosmi step up. The interior line was more of a concern to me than the Tackles. Do we have great OT's? No, but should be serviceable. We already have a good defense.

Vegas gave us 6.5 and I took the over. How am I being a "Debbie Downer" if I'm actually taking the over? I do think Howell will have his normal growing pains. I was just saying if he couldn't play in this league we would have seen that by now.

Playing the schedule game in the middle of August is probably a waste of everyone's time but I'll give it a go based on how I'm feeling right now. This will all change by the Arizona game I'm sure.

AZ 1-0 W
@DN 1-1 L
BUF 1-2 L
@PL 1-3 L
CHI 2-3 W
@ATL 3-3 W
@NYG 3-4 L
PL 3-5 L
@NE 4-5 W
@SEA 5-5 W
NYG 6-5 W
@DAL 6-6 L
MIA 6-7 L
@LAR 6-8 L
@NYJ 6-9 L
SF 6-10 L
DAL 7-10 W

Best case scenario......I mean everything breaks our way 10-7.

Possible we can get two from the Giants.

Possible we could beat a disinterested Rams team with a back up QB.

Possible we could steal one from Miami if Tua is out by then or something.

I'm eying the Denver game, but asking Howell to go up to mile high, play a tough defense and beat Russ and Payton in his first road start is asking a lot. I'll concede its not an impossible task.

Like I said, playing the schedule game right now is pointless. We'll know a lot more after this Ravens game.

im not calling you a Debbie downer. I think we win more than 7 if Howell works out. IF we lose 3 in the AFC east and NFC east that is 6. 49ers is 7. The close ones will be Seahawks and Denver. If we win those, I think we are in good shape for 10-7. Its always fun to play the schedule game. lol

10-7 if everything goes right. Line hold up. EBs offense works. Howell is plug and play. The defense is top 5 (I'm starting to have my doubts about that).

I just want to see Howell play well this year.

2024 could be a turning point.

Howell with a year under his belt.
Fix the oline in the draft
80m to spend
Get to play the NFC South next year.
Probably a 3rd place schedule......maybe 4th.
Most likely a top notch, big name coach.

If we get good QB play this year the season should be a winning one. Its the biggest question coming into the year.

If they give Howell time and he can keep throwing it away, which he's done so far, he should be fine. He did hold on to the ball a little too long on occasion the other night. That's to be expected. The game will slow down eventually for him.

He did miss a check down on the sack vs. Cleveland.

i agree. IF EB gets him on roll outs and moves the pocket with him that would help to protect against the oline. He has the arm and the mobility. If he can read defenses quickly enough, we should be fine.

I heard on someone's podcast that Scott Tuner didn't use hot routes and EB does. I don't have the All22 but that's hard to believe that an NFL offense in 2023 didn't have hot routes.

In any case hot routes should relieve some of the pressure.
