See, if they're blowing it up, now that the Blazers appear to be committing to Dame, sending PG to the Blazers for the #3 and contracts seems like a good deal for both teams.

To match contracts, it would probably have to be Simons and Nurkic (or Simons/Little/Sharpe, which I don't know that the Blazers would go for). Clips could then flip either Nurkic or Zubac, as I assume they wouldn't want both.

Marcus deserves a tribute thread

A great Celtic. I think he will be back in two years

Was disappointed to find out he was traded. He was my favorite Celtic. I wouldn't mind seeing him back in two years if possible.

Apparently he was blindsided by the trade, wanted to retire in Boston.

Except.....they are moving into a new arena.

Be kind of tough to sell tickets with a rebuilding team in the arena.

Hard to keep fans happy when your main two stars miss a lot of games too. Getting some younger blood in there could make things interesting (and more flexible around the new tax apron).

I feel like the wizards GM has a vendetta against the Wolves GM, so he is going low value as possible to highlight the Wolves over pay even more.

Cavs deal would have to be a three way. Their movable pieces would be LaVert sign and trade or Jarrett Allen. They aren’t dealing Mitchell Garland or Mobley. They just don’t have 39 million worth of movable pieces that would make it worth the Sixers while to part with Harris. The movable pieces don’t match what the Sixers need. They have cheaper and better LaVert in Maxey. They have a better 5 in Embiid > Allen. This one would have to be a three way. The only player I like for the Sixers on the Cavs roster is Okoro and he’s not much of an asset right now.
Saw this in some Cavs' forums and also don't see the Cavs doing it.....some for reasons you mentioned as what could Philly want that we'd do? Also even if 3-way XCavs still need to give up enough to get him and I think they prefer Mobley at the 4 than the 5 despite many thinking he could move to the 5.....at least for now. Some based on his size, of course, but he could get bigger. Might just be they like what he can do as a 5 due to his versatility and way he can move.

So basically they couldn't get a physical done in time and weren't comfortable doing the trade (understandable). Sounds like Brogdan should be good to go in the season though

Horford should be easily moveable at his new reduced salary though.

Horford fits a lot better with what the Celtics are trying to do.

They can have 5 shooters on the court at all times if they trade Williams.

They will also get a better return.

I don't necessarily disagree with anything you say ^here^... health/injuries is a big risk with this Celtics roster.
Yeah...looking at the names (and picks they got) almost seems too good to be true for Cs but ya never know how guys will fit (plus the health issue).

If getting rid of Marcus helps the Celtics reach their ultimate goal it's all good. If not fire Brad Stevens! :heh:

Bro that doesn't end after the draft lol

Well actually the draft hype will end tonight. That's what I meant. Wasn't talking about anything that comes after the draft.

not sure if the Celtics really got better with this deal.

I understand they had a glut of guards....wonder what Celtics fans think.

Do have to say--- if the Cavs could make a deal for Gallinari from the Wizards- or if he is bought out- I would like that.
