Basically, you created this thread because you were looking to argue with those of us who think Love just isnt that good (count me among them). He'll be just a dude, nothing noteworthy. The Packers' days of ruling the NFC North are over
What is your point? It's a debate thread. I think he's going to be good, not great.

Other: You forgot to include Love has a good season, no need to compare him with a QB that left the team, there was no middle ground, and maybe potato salad with bacon bits.

He will probably be the best QB in the division by next year. That’s not really saying much though.

Just an extra year but that'll give GB 2 solid years if he stays or head back to the draft looking for QB.

Correct... and they gave him extension rather than picking up 5th year option.

The Packers dropped Love’s base salary in 2023 to the minimum but made it fully guaranteed while also giving him money upfront via the signing bonus, providing a raise of over $7 million this year. His base salary of $5.5 million in 2024 is also guaranteed, and $9 million in 2024 is available through escalators based on 2023 performance (both individual and team).

Love gets considerably more guaranteed money in 2023, some guaranteed money in 2024 and the chance to outperform the value of the fifth-year option through escalators, while the Packers better split the cap hits between 2023 and 2024, reduce the overall guaranteed money and reduce the risk while providing a financially responsible way to evaluate a first-year starting quarterback over a two-year span.

No idea. Odds are against him being as good as Rodgers. I liked him more than others coming out of college but we really have seen so little of him at this level that it's impossible to say. He played a bit against the Eagles last year towards the end of the game so it seems like he has potential because he was moving the ball but it was also a bit of a blowout where the defense wasn't all that into it nor were they prepared for him.

I think he could end up being solid.

I think Dak Prescott is his ceiling, but the football gods seem to want MN fans to suffer, so 3straight HOF qB it is

I wanted MN to draft love and sit behind Kirk, but meh, we got jefferson, worked out

The fact GB stuck with him and did not go after another QB is a sign they believe he will be productive. He has excellent physical tools and has had three full seasons to learn the system.

Not so sure about that.......just because they didnt draft a qb doesnt necissarily mean they are committed to him in the long run,but maybe they wanna see what they fully have in his first full season as a starter......
If hes a keeper, then maybe they have something......
But if he just doesnt have the goods and GB flops, well tyen theres always Caleb Eilliams to trade up for......

I think its a smart move on their part........

Love was supposed to be a bit slow both delivery and processing. Trigger time can't be slow at this level.

He's had time to get that part sorted out, but it's different when the bullets are flying. Whatever he doesn't do well that Rodgers did well will be magnified and if he can't handle the pressure he'll fold quick.

I think the Packers are in for a reality check after having it easy at the position and taking it for granted.

I thought his one 'plus' trait was his deep ball in college. Christian Watson is one of the best athletes at the WR position in the NFL so there is a possibility that a Love/Watson connection could end up being fairly productive.

That said, there really isnt any proof that he can play. Commanders and Falcons in the same boat with their QBs but Packers have had more time to groom Love.

He'll be a replacement level QB (midleague-ish), but will be seen as a flop by Packers fans. They've had a long run of HOF QB play, it will be a step down.
