Yea I can't for the life of see what he'd worry about Stroud other than going to OSU.

Wondering about reading defenses. With loaded teams like OSU, guys tend to be very open and not a lot of reading needs to be done. If not that, maybe love of football? Definitely intriguing...

No offense, I know you know your football.

But, I am betting on my friend all day every day.

Stroud is the second coming of Trubisky. Book
It.

Not in terms of play style, but success as an NFL QB.
I wasn’t really asking you to. NFL teams aren’t reaching out to ask me to chime in the way they do with your guy. I was just sharing my opinion. Truth be told, evaluating QB play was not a task I was asked to engage in during my coaching career. I’m pure fan on some thing like this.

He has almost definitely made more NFL throws than Fields and Haskins put together.

It could be the fact that he’s playing behind a plus OL throwing to first and second day picks at WR playing against lesser recruited athletes. I think that’s fair. At the same time, I point to how he played vs Georgia. That’s as close as you’ll come to an NFL caliber defense in college and he was really impressive that night. I think Richardson could have the highest upside in the group. However, I think Stroud is the safest pick to translate to top 15 NFL starter and maybe better.

I’m floored by this

Stroud has William tell command of the ball

6-3

Showed his athleticism is wildly underrated in that Georgia game

Wow…
Damn. Should have read your post first. The Georgia game was telling for me as well in stepping out on calling him the best in this group.

I loved Fields in that draft. I called him 1B to Lawrence’s 1A that year. This is the big year for him. I think he’s poised for a Hurts like leap now that he has weapons around him.

I just read a fascinating article about him where he needs to keep using his legs…

He’s Rosen bad just throwing the ball

Lemme see if I can find it

My only concern is what has materialized. He holds the ball too long.

I think his accuracy issues are entirely fixable through footwork. Hurts was also incredibly inaccurate. He went to work with ….get this… guys who are former MLB relief pitchers who have QB footwork down to a science in their ability to teach and drill great footwork habits that translates. The guy Hurts worked with is Tom House

House is the guy that worked with Tom Brady toward the back end of his career as his arm talent was starting to erode.

I promise you that Stroud is not the safest.

Safest pick is Young.

Levis is easy number 2 in terms of “safety” although he is not super safe.

There are so many variables that can affect guys careers. No such thing as a slam dunk sure thing at QB. Just can’t predict NFL coaching, play calling and roster support these guys will get.

I did say all the other top QBs would be good to great…
I didn't see that.

So basically ARich will be the only QB that becomes special.
Stroud is the only full blow bust.
Young and Levis could be good or great...so really only two clear cut predictions at this point. Good to great gives a lot of leeway either way.

No…

Not at all.

I said I will post more details after the draft.

Specifically after my dynasty draft which a couple guys on here participate in.

Richardson definitely not the top prospect in any sense.

Haha! Your guy is the antithesis of me. Stroud is the QB I like most in this draft. Don’t like Levi’s at all. Worried about Young’s size. On Richardson, it’s highly dependent on where he goes and how they develop him for me.
Nothing is set in stone with his guy but in his defense he has been pretty good for the most part in his predictions. Not sure about the last 2 years or so but kinda hard to tell with a short span anyway. Maybe the only misses is Hurts and then Kyler, who started off hot but fell off.

Definitely. Because he's the only one that doesn't have obvious concerns except the OSU factor
To be fair, we had doubt about Stroud over the years and we have seen the progression but if he doesn't go out and play lights out against UGA...I probably have more concerns. That game definitely changed my opinion some which worries me a bit.
