Purdy and Samuel are both hurt. Everybody acting like the Niners are going to walk all over them.

Seattle has a shot to win.

The 12s lost me when they got done at home by Sam Darnold.

That could be partially because I had a significant amount of money on Seattle that is now in the pockets of a crappy casino in Iowa. Because my state has it's head so far up it's ass that they can't legalize sports gambling. /rant

Co-sign. Philly (and the rest of the NFC) really benefitted from Jimmy G’s misfortune. By the time Purdy gets ready to make his first playoff start there will be 4-5 games of film on him. That can be exploited.

Brock is an enigma.

Deebo is out for Thursday’s game and a short week, don’t think Purdy will play as well as he did today. He may not have to, but I expect a slobber knocker Thursday night.
Most definitely a slobber knocker but I don't have much faith in Seattle's D. They're going through a tough stretch.

Teams have the blueprint, our 3-4 can’t stop the run right now … We aren’t making the right adjustments, I can see the Niners running the ball a LOT…
Seattle never had the personnel to change schemes probably should have stayed in the 4-3 scheme.

At least the FO knows what the biggest need is come draft time.

That's another thing. We're going to have to address QB sooner or later. Cousins is older than Russ is and we've seen how quick the wall can come for QBs in their mid 30s. Obviously much different players, but I would rather get out before that cliff comes like Seattle did.

I don't know how many years Cousins has left but a day 2 QB to groom probably would be ideal unless one falls in the first that they really like and address the D-line day 2.

Seattle has a shot to win.

I'd be surprised if Purdy doesn't play. And while officially he's hurt I do think the talk of him not playing is more gamesmanship on the 9ers part than actual concern of him not being able to go.

Deebo being out doesn't help their chances but I'd say CMC is more of a nightmare for Seattle than Deebo would be.

I've been saying Seattle has a shot to win because divisional matches are just like that and the 9ers typically just aren't great when they play in Seattle.

It's just on paper it's hard to build a real strong case for Seattle winning the game other than the 9ers play bad and Seattle plays great.

Agreed, we can make it work but we need a stud NT and some dam good LB’s, 3-4 can be a good defense with the right personnel… But you better have a beast NT and some dam good DE with LB’s that know what they’re doing … I love the 3-4 for passing situations, works nice for that..

No matter what the talking heads say, Seattle has a very real shot to win this game. For Purdy and the Niners, It'll be a dog fight against a division rival on the road on a short week. Easily Purdy's biggest test so far. Like most, gotta expect the Niners to try and make it about the running game to take advantage of SEattle's weakness on defense and take the pressure off Purdy.

I appreciate you doing the reverse jinx thing I normally do... it's commendable...

But we know the 9ers are going to annihilate Seattle tomorrow.

Especially with the game being in Seattle.

I went back all the way to 2003 and the biggest margin of victory they've had at Seattle is 10 points in 2006.

When they do win in Seattle it's an extremely narrow margin of victory. Even when the 9ers end up the playoffs they struggle mightily in Seattle.

There is just a weird dichotomy in the NFC West where the 9ers give the Rams problems, the Rams give the Seahawks problems, the Seahawks struggle when they go to the 9ers and the 9ers struggle when they go to the Seahawks, and the Cardinals are the team that can either be a thorn in each team's side or get blown out by them.

That's true and why I'm personally just cautiously optimistic about Purdy. Some 9er fans are so onboard the talk is if they should trade Lance which I think is insane. History just tells you that late-round and undrafted QBs don't end up being high-end starters let alone franchise superstar players best you usually get is a pretty good backup.

With that said I do think one area Purdy at least seems to have an advantage over Jimmy is he's a better athlete and while the arm isn't great he's shown so far that he's willing and able to hit those passes outside the numbers that Jimmy doesn't.

So what I've noticed is the offense looks more like the offense Shanahan wants than the offense he's limited to because he's trying to work around Jimmy's limitations.

The bigger element that isn't getting as much attention anymore because of the recent Purdy hype is CMC is getting more and more intune with the offense and he's putting up those numbers he did in his best years.

So it's really been a combination of having a QB with more tools in the tool box to work with and the perfect running back that Shanahan has never had with the 9ers in CMC.

Each game he looks more and more legit...first road game, no problem
Purdy is a continuing surprise. First road game, division rival, loud stadium, short week, division title on the line. He looked just as effective as he was in the previous 2 games. Hell, He looks like he's 17 years old. He's not quite 6'1". Yet He fits in the system well and runs it well.

He's gonna have a bad game eventually, but so far, he Looks like a lucky find for the Niners.

Maybe not if all he has to do is throw slants and play action seam routes to TEs like he did last night. Against the Niners remaining schedule all he will have to do is not fuck it up throwing the ball 20 times a game. In the playoffs teams may be good enough to make Purdy beat them and put the game in his hands.

It could easily happen. If the Niners fell well behind early, forcing the team to abandon the run and rely entirely on the pass. It could happen, and teams are now getting more and more tape on Purdy.

Though In fairness He had 37 attempts against Miami, which isn't a lot for some teams, but it is for SF. When the Niners attempted that many passes with Jimmy, the Niners usually lost.
