He would have been had he said he'd accept a 2 year deal, because someone in his position could most likely get a 4 year deal.

I like it. Turner would be a huge shot for the offense and is maybe the ideal leadoff hitter.
I've come around to Syndergaard and didn't realize he was as solid as he was last year. He's very comparable to Jon Gray and would help solidify the rotation.

That is a deep system in regards to starting pitching. It doesn't even include the guy who may become our best pitching prospect, Brock Porter. In following our minor leagues since the mid 70s, I have never seen us being anywhere close to this deep in starting pitching. If we will just hold onto these guys, we will not lack for starting pitching for awhile.

This seems reasonable but owners may want a higher profile signing. I am not against delaying pending more development. And yes I think it extends our competitive window and let’s us have an option to get Yu or Ohtani
But they guy coming on the market from Japan. Is an option too

Yeah, there are a lot of different ways to go. I mentioned a trade possibility a few days ago for a couple different Marlins pitchers, and something like that is definitely an option.

I would alter any plans if that meant getting Yu back.

The beauty of obtaining Nick Martinez is that he could start this year and either in 2023 or 2024 go to the bullpen. If there is another guy like that available I would be interested in him as well.

Of course, I have no problems signing Kershaw this offseason.

Ideally, I would like the above scenario that I gave to play out for 2023, but I realize that most likely will not happen.

Yep, what I posted was what I would do. I think they still like to acquire relievers from their own starting staff. They have failed to go out and sign enough relievers in the past and most likely will continue to do so. I have a suspicion that they will do the same with Kyle Cody that they have done with Burke. Even though their flimsy excuses they gave for keeping Burke from starting are gone, he is most likely banished to the pen for the rest of his days here.

If we wait a year, we might be able to leave Darvish up there.

If we resign Perez and it is four that we need, I guess it would have to be Perez, Seager, Semien and Lowe. Although I would like Adolos up there over everyone of those except Perez. Maybe 14 months from now folks will say, Perez, Darvish, Jung and Adolis.
