If you're making a decision on Wednesday where the game will be, it'd be tough to put in Miami, no?
Why? The storm tracking system is pretty accurate. Again the storm will hit Tampa on Thursday it will be near Georgia by Friday. It would be north of Miami by this Wednesday.

No reason they can't plan for Miami IF Tampa takes major damage.

I'd bet more would travel to Miami vs. Boston or Minnesota.

Like I said MN would make some sense because they would get a ton of Chiefs fans making the trip.

Miami isnt a good option simply because no one knows what this storm is going to bring. If Tampa gets hit hard, the NFL would get a bit of a black eye if they were having 10's of thousands of fans clogging the roads to get to an NFL game at a time when that area might be in full clean up mode.

The one thing that people need to realize is that while FL is generally prepared for hurricanes.....the Tampa area has never really been tested like it is about to. The Tampa area hasnt seen a major hurricane hit it in something like 100 years. They have only received glancing or weakened blows for a long, long time.

The storm will be long past Tampa, crowded roads south won't be no more of an issue than crowded roads from Los Angeles to Las Vegas

Just like every other instance of a game moved due to a storm it would be a half empty stadium with mostly apathetic fans. Those Tampa fans would have bigger worries with their houses potentially being destroyed than booking a last minute trip for a football game.

You would have a packed and loud crowd in NE for the Bucs.

It's not a Chiefs home game though. Minnesota would be a bad choice when Gillette Stadium is available.

....in a situation like this, I would expect it is more about logistics and a certain number of butts in the seat (for a Sunday night game no less) than it is about keeping it a home game for Tampa. That has to be the only reason Minnesota is even in the conversation. Because otherwise it makes little sense to send the game this way.

I did look at that bye weeks for the 2 teams and see if it was possible to just make this week both teams bye week. But there would be a cascading effect across a ton of other teams to try and pull that off. Especially the Chiefs play the Chargers in LA on Tampa's bye week. And the Chargers not having their own stadium means that likely cant be moved.

I have no idea on logistics of either place. But I bet a place like MN (security wise) is a 1000 times easier to put on a short notice game than a place like Boston or NY for instance.

Gillette Stadium isn't in Boston. It's out in the middle of nowhere, moreso than Minneapolis.

Nah. They should play the game in Miami where Brady wanted to go and retire. Imagine if he got "Pollarded" again and his career actually ended in Miami?
Word was that him and Peyton were going to be minority owners, TB play a year there and then they get more involved. Brady wanted to retire in NE but jerkoff BB wouldn't give him 2 years 50 mill contract , instead offered him 15 mill for 1 year, way less than even scrubs. Now CBB is back to his below.500 coaching

True, but traveling out of Florida would be tougher.

Both Jacksonville and Gainesville are closer to TB but they are both in the path of the storm
Storm hitting Jacksonville might clean the city up - except for all those trailers.....

There's plenty of other stadiums available closer to Tampa. Going to NE or Minn makes no sense.

Besides the storm is set to hit TB on Friday, baring major damage to the stadium, they're plaing the game right there on Sunday
Tampa will still largely be under water.....

There is an old legend that the Indians who used to live in the Tampa area buried something in the hills in that area that wards off any invaders which includes hurricanes. Once again (just like the last 100 years) it sure seems like whatever they did works because once again it looks like from that that they are going to escape the brunt of the storm.

They could move it to Dallas since they don't play NFL football there anymore.

There is nothing going on this weekend in Minneapolis. The Vikings are obviously in London. Even if the Twins were in town (which they aren't), they are just playing out the string and the Wolves and Wild are in training camps.

The only issue will be staffing the stadium, because I'm sure at least half of those people made weekend plans as it probably will be the last nice weather weekend of the year.
