So Tampa didn’t have 35 yards rushing. RBs averaged 2.2 per carry?

Lol goodness man
Brady was slinging it all game.

and if you notice, TB hasn't been using their RB's. They rank 31st in the league in rushing attempts per game. They are a passing team that occassionally using their RB's. They have 1 rushing TD by a RB all season, and that was just this last week because Brady is always throwing it. Doesn't matter if they are at the 5, or 3, or 1 yard line, 99% of the time Brady is throwing for it vs them running for it.

What other big plays besides on the Cards game? Lol. Yea the Cards game was bad. It was also one game
Andy Dalton to Marquis Goodwin for 23 yards. in the Bears game. Wentz to Pittman in the Colts game for 30 yards. Etc, etc.

One more thing. Yes, the Bucs are SB champs, but that 3-1 record is very deceiving.

They should've lost against the Boys because the refs missed the OPI on the catch that set up the last minute winning kick, and they just escaped NE because of a missed FG by the Pats.

They very easily could've been 1-3 instead of 3-1, and with the worst passing defense in the league, that "statement" win isn't as impressive as it looks.

That was a running play, ALR. SJ76 wanted big pass plays the Rams D yielded in the first four games. I gave him two examples and there were others.

Dude just stop already. You’re Moving goal posts again.. What about the 30 carries for 120 yards Tampa put on last game? Lol

That not count either?

Brady was slinging it because we were stuffing the run and that’s what he does. And why he had over 55 attempts and 400 yards passing.

Whether they are committed to the run or not we allowed 2 yards per carry to their RBs.

They gave their RB's a whopping 9 carries ALL game.

Way to "stuff" the run for 9 freaking carries.

How many times have we seen games where a RB has 8-9 carries for 20-25 yards, but then, the team stays committed to the run and next thing you know, they have 90-100 yards by the end of the game? Why?" Because the defense gets tired.

TB was not committed to running the ball at all that game, as they have been most of the season except for last week, when surprise, Brady was having trouble passing against the #4 passing defense in the league.

The Rams are #25 pass defense, therefore, teams are gong to pass more than run ( not that their run defense is much better ).

All the Rams have to do is watch the Patriots game against the Bucs last week.

Rookie QB threw for more yards and more TDs than the GOAT. Two 4th downs that should have been attempted were FG kicks and the last one missed. Otherwise you'd be facing a 2-2 Bucs team.

Bucs pass defense is horrendous. Mac Jones set an NFL record last week with 19 straight completions against the Bucs. Stafford should put it up 60 times and will probably complete 50 for 600+ yards. Patriots ran for -1 yards and almost beat the invincible Bucs. The Rams are better and should be able to crush them.

Oh the horror all the way through the first week of October.

Get a grip
Right, because it's only going to get better having to face Seattle twice, SF twice and the Cards once more, plus the Titans, Packers, Vikings and Ravens.

There is an old adage in Exercise Science that many sports enthusiasts fail to grasp but it is very true. Having worked with Olympic level athletes years ago and being a Competitive Powerlifter of 46 years of my life, the adage is: How you practice significantly determines how you will perform when the game is on. You can't flip a switch and do something different during a game if you have not significantly practiced it elsewhere. If you do (and I have personally witnessed this) the result is usually catastrophic.

So the Morris philosophy of Bend-But-Don't-Break is practiced and sets the D up to allow big running and passing plays between the redzones but then shutting the offense down and holding them to the most minimal of points possible inside the redzone. That is how the Rams play because they practice it and they will have games like the Tampa Bay game where they shut down Brady's running game offense but yield big plays in the passing game and vice versa.

Staley's main concept for Defense is to focus on micromanagement of zones within the sphere of each player on Defense and to take advantage of your opponent's displayed weaknesses while adjusting on the fly. There are a host of tutorials on Youtube featuring AD and John Johnson and they demonstrate how adjusting to what the O-lineman and the receivers (respectively) are doing as the play is initiated and then making adjustments to destroy a given offensive players displayed weakness. Thus, you become a very constrictive Defense in the aggregate. Pretty revolutionary because Staley is now doing the same with the Chargers D with basically the same personnel and the results are just as constrictive.

So the lesson here is that our D this year is probably going to be not as good as the one last year because the philosophies are practiced and produce different results. The issue that arises is how we the fans really like watching a defense yield so much in the aggregate when we have witnessed how constrictive a given D can be in the aggregate as well.

Yea BigKen: One of the reasons Arians went out and signed Richard Sherman. The pass D for the Bucs is horrendous.

That philosophy was designed, developed and instituted by one Bill Belichick under the tutelage of one Bill "The Big Tuna" Parcells. Improved by Romeo Crennell and tweaked by many. Especially those with better than average personnel.
