Retro already posted this, but here it is for you to read again.

Here are some more stats for you:

Team A- 99 points allowed, 24.8 ppg, 54.3% 3rd down conversion rate allowed

Team B- 74 points allowed, 18.5 ppg, 49.1% 3rd down conversion rate allowed

Team A are the Rams

Team B are the Chargers

This defense isn't the same because Staley isn't here, and Morris is not Staley. End of story.

BTW, that is called looking at the facts, not being negative.

Lmao at your “facts”

Honestly you are frikin toolbox. Staley and Morris are not playing defense.

Btw last year we played the NFC East 3 of the first 4 games. :L worst division in football last year by far so nice comparison there. And the other was Buffalo who torched our D. And we still had the #1 defense.

Maybe get all the details before you go off the deep end after 1 game?

Now you’re just making stuff up man. Get a grip. I Never said this was the same defense I said same main pieces. Yes you are negative Nancy

With plenty of weapons we held the GOAT to 1 TD passing on 55 attempts with some dam good weapons at TE and WR.

I swear one bad game and you all just flip out.
you said it was the #1 defense, thus it is the same

Number 1 defense last year isn’t legit? With the same key pieces? Definitely some weak spots that need to get checked and adjustments will be made but overall this defense is plenty legit.

They did plenty of good against Brady and the Bucs which is obviously good offense. Our DBs get smoked against Tampa?

Here I put the statements in bold

And let’s also completely ignore thatTampa had 35 yards rushing in that game. Let’s just act like that didn’t happen.

Colts had 100 yards rushing and Wentz had 37 of those yards

When they doubled down on Goff, I just wanted them to get now talent on the OL and a deep threat. I was shocked he was extended early!

Hell, look how Jerry Jones played it out with Dak, pushed him out on his 3 year deal for 2 more years, Dak just got paid!

I do think Goff would be doing a solid job with this years team, but then again I think Bryce Perkins would be doing a solid job with this years team, so take it for what it's worth.

Imagine Perk as our starter and Goff in the wings. We would have a talented dual threat QB with a Super Bowl starter looking over his shoulder! These competitors thrive on competition, and Bryce could be pushed into a Wilson/Murray prototype!

We would have enough talent behind Perkins if the wheels fell off, competition at the position, no dead money and a couple of more 1st's who, at the very least, would allow the Rams to trade down and get more talent/competition that we simply gave away....

I don’t think Bryce Perkins is an upgrade over Jared Goff. He can scramble yes but he’s going to have some turnovers. I do like him but he needs a bit more time and experience

I'm the tool? You are the tool.

Because you think this is just a 1 game problem. The defense has been suspect all season if you had bothered to pay attention at all.

And you can't bash me for using "one game" to go off the deep end ( which it's not just the 1 game btw ), when you are only using the 1 game ( TB ) to argue the defense is great.

the Chicago game, the Bears marched down the field early and often, and if not for some lucky end zone turnovers, that game goes quite differently.

Rams needed last minute drive to beat Indy because the defense wasn't stopping the Colts.

They played a decent game against TB, but allowing over 400 passing yards and no turnovers is not a great defensive game. Sorry you think otherwise.

Then, they completely fell apart against the Cards.

And if you bothered to pay attention the first 3 games, you would've seen the Cards game coming as I did.

And it doesn't matter who the opponents are. The stats are the stats, therefore they are fact. The Bears and Colts aren't great teams either.

again, you are comparing this defense to last years #1 ranking as if they are the same.

last years #1 ranking has nothing to do with this season.

That's like saying the Pats offense last year was the same as the previous years offense, only missing a few key pieces.

Those missing pieces make a huge difference, starting with Staley, just like the Pats offense wasn't the same without Brady.

why run when the pass defense is so weak?

yes, the run defense is slightly improved over last season so far, ( 4.99 ypc vs 4.79 ypc ), but the pass defense is far worse, and that is what the teams will focus on and ignore the run for long stretches of the game.

Dude jump off the cliff then. The Bears game is week 1. :L

What about the Colts game? 100 yards and Wentz had 37 of them. Tampa game was 35 yards rushing? You just forget about that too? Those were the first 3 games right? Lol

Yea that pass defense comparison shows how much we miss Troy Hill and John Johnson that permitted Ramsey to be on one corner and Williams on the other. If we picked-up Gilmore and returned Ramsey on the corner I am pretty sure our pass D would be as good or better than last year after four games.

So Tampa didn’t have 35 yards rushing. RBs averaged 2.2 per carry?

Lol goodness man

Also, when your D continues to give-up big plays whether it be a run like a 54-yard run in the Cards game or a number of examples in the passing game, ya ain't doing the offense any favors.

This most likely is true. But it is rather early in the season. However no way we could have signed JJ and Hill unless you want to move Ramsey

too bad that isn't going to happen.

They also need to move Ramsey bad to his normal position as well, but I don't think that is going to happen anytime soon either.

If they did, there could be a chance Long or Rochell can handle the slot/nickel position better than they can playing on the outside.

Yea SJ76, that point takes us back to your discussion with Vita about how we got in some a cap hell mess when that albatross contract was formulated and signed along with Gurley's, Cook's and a few others who are no longer Rams. The list of players we could have kept... ...the rest is history.

Gurley and Cook contracts have nothing to
Do with signing JJ and Hill.

I am not sure about that. The dead money we are paying Gurley, Goff, and Cook contributed to our inability to have cap room did it not?
