Your answer is just wrong.

I never wanted Goff or Wentz.

I wanted to stick with Foles, and not trade away all that draft capital we used to move up.

And trade up or not, I was going to that draft party because it was the first Rams event in LA in 20 years!

Well Fisher thought he needed a QB and drafted the trash man Goff. Foles didn’t show us much because the offense was always bad under Fisher.

Too many off topic questions in your post that don't make sense.

Either read the post, or don't post about it.

But if you want the cliff notes........

There are legit questions about Stafford, but more so questions with McSnead's committment towards our last QB, and our current QB.

As far as winning a Chip, I'm not convinced either could get it done, and all we did was lose a ton of draft capital & a ton of cap space.

Bullshit. You talked about 1st rounders like they’re gold. When teams like the Pats and Seahawks have been botching those picks for years. Years.

You can’t answer if Jalen is worth 2 first rounders? That’s a tough question for you?

Please man stop spinning your bullshit and go to the negative thread and bitch about who Fisher drafted and who Mcsnead signed. No one wanted the Rams to sign Goff. They did it’s over and he’s gone. Time to move on

Yea, A lot of the second-guessing pundits had us taking Zak with the 1st overall pick if teams had a do-over in the 2016 draft. Here is one of them.

I remember wanting us to keep the draft assets we gave away for Goff, stay with Foles, and go after our weaknesses to protect Foles. Our O-line stunk, or D-line was bad, the LBs were bad, and so were the secondary players. In the example above, Ramsey would have went to the CaBoys and if that were the case, we would not have been able to pry him loose.

You both a have good points. I agree with Vita in what I saw in the Cards game from Stafford who came out looking like his old self with the Rams and then just went in the shitter by over/under throwing WRs, throwing a pick, etc. This combined with bad play calling and McVay abandoning a running game that was working, Stafford just looked bad thereafter. The question still remains unanswered and we may get an answer this week: How does a guy who in the first three games was considered elite and talk of MVP considerations go completely 180 and look like the whipped and beaten QB that left Detroit?

I agree with SJ76 that Ramsey has proven his worth of the Rams giving-up the number ones we did and his presence is like having an AD in the secondary as well as all the influences he provides that brings us possibly a Stephon Gilmore. Ramsey helped in bringing Michel to the Rams as well. He is worth all that? Emphatically YES but it is only after his results that Ramsey delivered that I would make that conclusion. It could easily gone the other way like the Goff situation.

Is Goff trash? Yes and I would not want to go through another year with him under center. Was he worth the number ones we gave-up to get him? No, well maybe. He had terrible problems reading defenses on the fly, his night life was becoming a glaring problem, and his performance on the field was getting worse by the minute. I make those conclusions again after the fact. In 2018, Goff was golden. I had made comments on here to the notion that he was going to be the Rams long-term keeper QB. Then that albatross contract was formulated and signed and 2019 came along and suddenly it all went south.

So perhaps, Vita is observing the beginning of the same etiology of decline that we witnessed with Goff is now happening with Stafford. Once a fan has been betrayed, it doesn't take long to recognize the symptoms. The sad thing about all of this is a guy like AD pays the price of living the reality of having a completely stellar career and never getting a ring. We have quite of few players like that over the years and I am quite sure both of you could name a host of them right off the top of your heads.

So in sum, I am with ya both on this matter!!

More or Les!

In other words, don't leave out Les Snead!

He was in on it too, and he was in on signing Goff to that HUGE early extension 16 months prior to the Rams 'QB Talent Realignment'!

You saying Jalen wasn’t worth those picks?
No of course not, but don't confuse the two as they are completely different trade scenarios, and really who doesn't like the Ramsey trade?

The Ramsey trade didn't include a No 1 overall CB we just extended 16 months prior, who we gave up 2 No1's; 2 No 2's & 2 No 3's to get in the overall No 1 spot. Plus, and I'll underscore PLUS! Jalen was in his Rookie contract, and Stafford had 11 NFL seasons of wear & tear, and substantial injuries too boot!

Then, the Ramsey deal has a cap hit of $33M over the next two years, the Stafford deal has a cap hit of $43M over the next two years plus Goff's dead money hit of $25M.

So the Ramsey deal has a cap hit of $17.5M per year of the next two years.

And the Stafford deal has a cap hit of $34M per year over the next two years.

@Retroram52 is right, they fall in love with these guys and give up the farm to get them.

Imagine the players we could have taken flyers on with all those picks for Goff/Stafford. Or the FA's we could have held onto, or FA's we could have signed with just that $16M cap hit or $34M cap hit over the next two years we could have taken on in the process, and that's just in comparison to the Ramsey deal!

Oh Snead consults with Mcvay like he did with Fisher. So they all are to blame for the Goff gaffs

Not sure what any of them were smoking

I read some of your post dammit! It’s long N stuff

We gave up lots of 1st rounders man but the only one worth a lot was the Goff pick. Late first rounders are tough and I think the FO has figured that out. Hell look at the difference in 2 years going from Cam and Van J then Tutu in the 2nd. Taylor Rapp a great example that 2nd rounders are hit and miss 50-50.

Everyone dranks koolaid I guess even this FO. But what they have done later in the draft speaks for itself. Cooper Kupp and JJ both 3rd rounders. David Edwards 5th round. Joseph Day and Jordan Fuller 6th rounders. Jake Funk too but it’s early for him.

Then there is the UDFAs

The Ramsey trade. Corbett for a 5th? Stafford is an upgrade this defense is legit. Rams we’re going nowhere with Goff so something had to be done

Terrell Lewis 3rd

Robert Rochell 4th

Plenty of upside to come still from those guys there if they can stay healthy

When they doubled down on Goff, I just wanted them to get now talent on the OL and a deep threat. I was shocked he was extended early!

Hell, look how Jerry Jones played it out with Dak, pushed him out on his 3 year deal for 2 more years, Dak just got paid!

I do think Goff would be doing a solid job with this years team, but then again I think Bryce Perkins would be doing a solid job with this years team, so take it for what it's worth.

Imagine Perk as our starter and Goff in the wings. We would have a talented dual threat QB with a Super Bowl starter looking over his shoulder! These competitors thrive on competition, and Bryce could be pushed into a Wilson/Murray prototype!

We would have enough talent behind Perkins if the wheels fell off, competition at the position, no dead money and a couple of more 1st's who, at the very least, would allow the Rams to trade down and get more talent/competition that we simply gave away....

Two guys that come to mind in the FA realm were JJ and Troy Hill. Should have kept them both.

you had me until you said the defense was legit.

This defense is very suspect. The LBers are still terrible, the back end has gotten worse now that they have Ramsey playing the star instead of outside where Williams and Long are getting smoked.

The pass rush isn't better. It;s the same as last season so far, SJD is an upgrade from Brockers, but Lloyd is still inconsistent and there is no one on the other side getting pressure. Unless McVay starts playing Garrett and his play from preseason carries over, that is not going to improve at all.

Number 1 defense last year isn’t legit? With the same key pieces? Definitely some weak spots that need to get checked and adjustments will be made but overall this defense is plenty legit.

They did plenty of good against Brady and the Bucs which is obviously good offense. Our DBs get smoked against Tampa?

Yes, they did.

Unless you missed Brady passing for over 400 yards and no INT’s.

If that isn’t smoked, I would like to know what does classify.

And last years #1 ranking means nothing in regards to this year.

Goodness man you are never satisfied. Always picking something. Brady had 55 attempts and was playing from behind. He also had 1 TD. Did you miss that or just busy being negative Nancy as usual?

It's not being negative, it's being realistic.

You talk about everyone else drinking Kool Aid, and then want to compare this leaky defense to the defense from last year as if everything is the same.

Well, it's not the same. Ramsey is playing out of hos normal position which is actually opening up more of the field to Qb's because there isn't a shutdown corner taking away one side of the field. Williams is not playing at the same level as he was last season, he has regressed. And Long is who he is. And McVay refuses to play Rochell to see if he can provide better coverage than Long.

The Lbers are still terrible in stopping the run and in pass coverage. There isn't a stud in the bunch.

You can convince yourself this is the same #1 defense that was here last year, but it's not. Because the guy that helped produce that #1 ranking now resides on the other side of SoFi Stadium, and his defense is playing more like the #1 than the Rams ( in case you hadn't noticed ).

You can call it being negative. I call it not drinking the Kool Aid as you like to put it. And I'm not the only one.

Retro already posted this, but here it is for you to read again.

Here are some more stats for you:

Team A- 99 points allowed, 24.8 ppg, 54.3% 3rd down conversion rate allowed

Team B- 74 points allowed, 18.5 ppg, 49.1% 3rd down conversion rate allowed

Team A are the Rams

Team B are the Chargers

This defense isn't the same because Staley isn't here, and Morris is not Staley. End of story.

BTW, that is called looking at the facts, not being negative.

Now you’re just making stuff up man. Get a grip. I Never said this was the same defense I said same main pieces. Yes you are negative Nancy

With plenty of weapons we held the GOAT to 1 TD passing on 55 attempts with some dam good weapons at TE and WR.

I swear one bad game and you all just flip out.
