I hear ya. Except for Board. He is easily the 3rd best LB on this team right now.

IDK about Board being clearly LB3. I would think Barnes is more aligned to that currently. Barnes could easily lose reps when the regular season begins if he doesn't improve significantly during the first 6-8 games.

BTW, I'm perfectly fine with Rodrigo, Barnes, Board and Woods.

After recollecting from late last year, it was Josh Woods who received more snaps at LB than Pittman once Barnes' workload had diminished so, you could be correct that he and not Pittman may be the coaches' preferred choice.

The love for Anzalone and Harris are the only things that have stood out as indefensible from current staff. They must scratch Campbell's insanity just right.

I also don't comprehend the thinking of this coaching staff when it comes to either of those two players. I'm not sure I would call keeping them indefensible, but I do understand your frustration as to why those two would be occupying a roster spot when other players might be more deserving of that opportunity.

Joseph has looked lost so far but he is too high a draft pick to sneak onto the PS. I loved him in college. We are going to have to ride with him for sure with Melafonu. I just wanted a 5th safety/CB. Smith can do both and play ST which would give our dream of sending W Harris to the street a chance.

I merely unintentionally forgot about him.

Correct, he most likely wouldn't make it to the PS, but keep in mind players who are waived, we are second in line to making a claim - Jax is 1st and that remains through the first 3 weeks of the regular season and after that it goes by W/L and then strength of schedule for tiebreakers.

Players who are released with 4 years of service are UFA and have the right to sign with whomever.
Y
es, he does look lost at times, however he only had 1 year as a starter at FS and was moved from DB to WR and then back to DB during his CFB time. I too like Joseph and when he's in single high safety he has looked good, but when he's moved into the box, he becomes confused due to miscommunication with other players and his inexperience. He simply needs a year or two to learn and grow.

@Old Lion

Are you sure you want to keep TB12?

Maybe Josh Reynolds ran a little deeper route than Boyle expected, but I highly doubt. Boyle has absolutely no pocket awareness. NONE.

He could've avoided the batted pass by moving to his right and up in the pocket or swung outside to his left and Hock had 2-3 steps on his DB.

Boyle is horrible and so is Blough, but the latter has more pocket awareness and the ability to scramble when a play breaks down.

I don't want either of them

I like the play style of Board.

Anzalone looks horrible as usual.

This OL can open some holes for the RB, but I'm not sure who the Steeler's have for their defense - #1's or #1's and #2' mixed.

Blough and his constant turnovers - another fumble on a snap. And a weak-ass arm.

Get rid of both of the QB B's

I don't want to see Boyle, Blough, Anzalone or Will Harris make the final 53.

Fuck this shit.

Somewhere there are other players who are deserving of an opportunity at those positions.

No. This was an epic bomb. He is not worth keeping even as a third. I would get someone off the street first. Blough at least can scramble and make something out of nothing despite the fumbles.

I am starting think I am qualified to be the backup qb for the Lions
I am going with Mebe's being the backup QB.

I think Jackson and Reynolds solidified their spots. Unless we keep 5 Godwin is gone too along with Jefferson. His returns are not enough to keep him over the other two. O-line played well again except for Decker. Skipper not only won the backup job IMO but he looked better than Taylor. Hopefully just a fluke. WRs struggled a bit.

Defense played a little better. Tackling improved and lineman followed plays downfield as well as being tougher up front. LBs were a little better too. DBs still struggled but Lucas made the team Our starters were decent though.

ST played well on both sides. Jack Fox deserves like 10 mil a year.:laugh3:

Harris had another shit day.

He needs to go, but to be honest, there doesn't exist any other player deserving of a chance. Savion still doesn't turn his fucking head around and that was reminiscent of his play at Alabama. He's been in the league for 4 years now. - not to mention the ill-advised PI penalty on the deep out on the left side. You cannot extend your arm while grabbing the opponent's jersey atop his shoulder pads.

The entire DB unit shows flashes but has a long way to go to improve. A LONG FUCKING WAY.

Unfortunately, one will have to be kept because you cannot bring in a player off waiver/release and expect them to pick up the offense in two weeks if needed and still it would take a full year to learn the playbook unless he's given a version similar to the bullshit like the DOJ redacted affidavits/documents.

I fucking despise both Boyle and Blough and this is all on Holmes and there isn't much going to be available on the open market either that would be an improvement. I've been looking for days now of who might become available. Someone else has to signed to the PS. This non-move by Brad Holmes in the off-season is most definitely indefensible.

Agree with Jackson and Hulu and even Skipper, but I'm leaning that Holmes keeps Nelson, Igwebuike - not that I would retain those last two.

I'm still on board with retaining Kraemer, Stenberg, Brown and Skipper as backups and I don't give a shit that the first 3 are iOL. Kraemer is getting reps at RT and that solidifies keeping 9 OL and I don't want to take a chance on losing Stenberg if someone comes calling on Brown.

Nelson should easily clear waivers (we're 2nd in line) and if he doesn't, who the fuck cares.

He's not a pussy like Parker when it comes to run defense or taking on much bigger players than him in the open field. He makes some mistakes here and there, but he's improved throughout camp.

I think Lucas has a chance to steal the nickel back position from Parker later on in the season.
