So which team gets more wins...

Panthers when Mayfield starts or Browns when Brissett starts?
If Baker is healthy I'll take the Panthers.

I suspect Browns will get Watson back for a playoff push, though, while the Panthers are one injury away from going to the basement again

Excellent trade cause it didn't involve Seattle. Getting a little closer to that top pick.

Looks like Jimmy G will probably get released unless a starter on another team goes down during camp/preseason. Then the seahawks swoop in to sign him, I'm guessing?
I think the Browns could be in play for the Jimmy G sweepstakes. All depends on how many games Watson gets? Browns running out of starting QB options. Kind of a shame to waste all that talent on another year of despair.

Soon all those contracts will be coming up. Watson gets maybe one year to play with them. Can't see many of them wanting to stay in Cle after this two year circus.

Terrible trade if your name is Matt Corral...

This is basically telling him he will never start for the team... which is a shame... Corral might not be a great prospect, but opportunity was there and look at Davis Mills, and how he is now the starter for the texans...

Calm down groomer. Nobody wanted him including the Panthers. That is why they only gave up a 5th round pick. Taking someone for literally nearly as close to nothing as possible is much different than actually wanting someone.

Lebron was just a point to your teams want him but his salary was too high. Baker could be on a minimum contract and still nobody would want him other than as a backup. He sucks, go cry about it somewhere else.
If they didn’t want him, why did they trade for him.

Nothing to lose. It is similar to taking a flier on a high risk spec stock. You don't really care if it doesn't work out and it's such a minimal risk, it doesn't matter either way. It's like buying a lottery ticket.

That is exactly why they made the trade. Players people actually want get more than a 5th round conditional pick lol

Or they wanted him, but knew the Browns were between a rock and a hard place and decided to wait them out.

Yes, it was some 4D chess by the Carolina Panthers to land the great Faker Mayfield, even tho no other teams management wanted the guy for even a scrub draft pick...

And one thing Carolina is known for is a great management team. They fooled all those other teams

The Browns would most likely have cut the guy for nothing...So really it was more idiotic the more i think about it lol

Good luck to those Seahawks fans that want to tank AND retain Pete Carroll.
Lest we forget somewhere in the not so distance future the Hawks will be sold per Paul Allen's request.

Browns fans deserve better than they're getting from the organization. Giving a serial predator the biggest guaranteed contract was a dumb move thought by everyone outside the Browns front office.
Oh there is one persistent fan who disagrees.

Is Baker a bust yet or do we need to wait longer, y'all?

We'll need to wait a little longer to really know. What we do know is he's a Panther.

No, not really, but I suspected some would say this.

His odds of succeeding were higher in Cleveland than Carolina

I thought him being on the roster for Cleveland was more likely than them releasing him, which would have made no sense at all, especially if Watson doesn't play this year.

Trade was the most likely outcome. The Browns come out okay, especially if it becomes a fourth.
Yes...trade was most likely but Mayfield was never going to step foot on a Browns practice field.

When a team signs a FA to $4.85M guaranteed contract with $3.5M more in incentives most people think the team wants the player. If a team gives up a pick for said contract apparently they don't want him. Who knew? :noidea:.
