So basically, if Canada can tie against Panama, they clinch 1st in the Concacaf group. Also, I think they have a 4 goal differential so barring a collapse, they "should" clinch the number 1 spot. At any rate, I can hardly wait to see which teams they're seeded with at the WC.

Pretty decent chance of getting into pot 3.

That plus drawn into group A with Qatar and I’d bet on them advancing.

Man United fans are wondering where he has been this season.
He really needs to be a focal point of the attack to succeed and since he’s not that on a team with Ronaldo his game overall suffers.

But maybe Ralf takes notes from today because Ronaldo was by far a more complimentary player the last two games and the results were there for a lot of guys on Portugal who generally have faltered when put into the squad together.

And Ronaldo is really a 60-70 minute player at this point. I hope Santos has the balls to have that convo with him by December, especially if Neto gets back into form and doesn’t blow his knee out again. He might even be more useful as a super sub by then.

You don't think they can advance unless that?

I think they have a decent shot at moving on a bit with Davies back. That gives them 4 ringers and a staunch goalie. Plus the next 3 or 4 are pretty decent too. Lareya and Adekugbe both play a decent game.

I think they surprise a couple of teams.

You never know but the Pot B possible opponents are going to be tough - Germany, Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland, Croatia and Uruguay combined with one of Belgium, Brazil, France, Argentina, England, Spain or Portugal would be a tough ask for anybody.

Replace one of the Pot A powerhouses with Qatar and I feel a lot more confident. Put, say, Portugal or Argentina with Switzerland, Cro or Uruguay and it’s not as dreadful but still unlikely (he said, knowing Portugal will now 100% draw Canada and lose).

They seemed clearly better than most they've played recently.

Without Davies.

I'm optimistic.

Big gap between Jamaica and Croatia.

I’d be optimistic because with Davies they had some great outings (ie the games vs Mexico) and also adapted to squeeze out results despite probably being the second-best team vs the US. That’s how this gets done.

Like dash said, let’s get a goal and go from there. Pretty fun to have two teams to cheer for.
