Banister was awful. He kept getting pantsed by the Jays.

Good thing is that the Banister era is long gone. Rougie is gone. Gallo is gone.

This is the Chris Young era, where we have a strong farm and spend half a billion on free agents.

"In early October, the Rangers hosted Leiter for three days at their pitching lab in Arizona. There, club officials got a closer look at his pitch repertoire and mechanics."

'"The Rangers pitching lab is unbelievable in terms of the level of technology and the sort of information they can gather," Leiter said. "It increases confidence in yourself when you go and throw in something like that. It's obviously something I've never done before. ... They can bring back information on what I do really well, and I can feed off of that. It builds confidence."'

"The information showed Leiter some needed tinkering to his mechanics, specifically making slight adjustments in order to be more direct to the catcher. It also showed what the Rangers already knew from their homework on Leiter—that his fastball is a lethal pitch, especially up in the zone. He also tinkered with his slider grip, hoping for more downward action, and a new changeup grip he finds more comfortable."

and the best place for him solidify these changes would be at Round Rock and Frisco with a 2023 Rangers debut

I’m stoked about Woodward and Chris young. I just wanted to reflect on how bad we had it for awhile there.

well i don't see us dumping 5 to 8 of our top prospects and that we probably pick up 1 more positional player (likely OF'er) and possibly at least 1 SP and a couple of RPs. that will require dropping at least 3 from the 40 plus we will have to add at least 3 or 4 prospects to the 40 which will also clearing spots on the 40.

Leclerc and J. Hernandez will end up on the 60-day and be out until late June or July and King will probably miss the whole season
Leclerc is another one with limited playing time. Ready to move him too.

Listened to podcast and spoke as if he had no idea where he would debut despite Frisco rumors

Well age has not been his friend. He was elite once upon a time. We shall see

we can only assume that he will be on the express tram to the big leagues so AA or AAA to open the season

Jim Bowden has a column out where he reacts to different trade proposals that were suggested to him. Here is one concerning the Rangers.

Rangers trade 1B Nathaniel Lowe, 2B Justin Foscue, RHP Glenn Otto and C Sam Huff to A’s for 1B Matt Olson — Louis M.
If I’m the A’s, I’d pass on this offer without a counter. I like Lowe’s power, but he can be pitched to. Foscue is the best player in the package but not enough for Olson. Otto didn’t impress me during his call-up last season (six starts, 9.26 ERA in 23 1/3 innings) and he’s 25 years old, and Huff is just an extra player at best. Back to the drawing board, Louis.
If he's using one of the Trade Simulators his package is worth about 50 and Olsen is worth 45.3 in the Medium category :noidea:

They list Lowe at 24.4, Foscue 15.1, Otto 3.5 and Huff 7.6...

and i imagine at some point they will probably trade IKF but not until they are comfortable with Jung hitting at the MLB level. what's your plan if they trade IKF now and Jung comes out of the gate struggling?
Or if one of the high dollar middle IFers gets hurt???

I can hear the screaming now when they try to plug Ibanez into one of those slots and his mediocre defense becomes front and center for all to see...

Yeah, if they convert a couple of those MIF prospects to OF, then they can fill in in the infield by next year when needed.

It's going to depend on how serious they plan on taking 2022 to if they trade IKF or not sometime soon...
