True. Aside from Terry Mac's catch that set up the TD, The TD pitch n catch from Heiney to Thomas and a couple runs from Gibby. There wasn't a whole lot to cheer for offensively speaking. The Skins going 3/10 on 3rd conv didn't do the defense or themselves any favors.Offense wasn't up to par either!
There are two ways to approach this injury depending upon which form of the subluxation he has experienced. In the first instance, one form responds well to a protocol of rest, ice and anti-inflammatory medications after the hip has been put back into place. This, under strict conformity to treatment protocols, requires 4 to 6 months to comfortable recovery*. The other is largely dependent upon ancillary damages to ligaments and nerves and suggests more intensive surgical intervention. Comfortable recovery* will vary accordingly. Take note that I haven't used "heal" here, instead I've opted to use "comfortable recovery" (note asterisks) because such insults to joints don't heal as one would otherwise expect because it's impossible to recapture the perfect alignment before insult. As a result, the subject learns to live with some manner of discomfort with rehabilitation. "Healing" in this instance refers to the length of time one would expect swelling, and/or ligament/ nerve damages to return to "normal" conditions. You're right about the timeline being generally anywhere from 4 weeks to 2 or 3 months depending on severity. "Comfortable recovery" includes the rehab that follows. If it’s a hip subluxation it’s 2-3 months to heal
It was a mistake to sign him considering the QB room was already filled with junk. I get it that they couldn't fix everything in the short time that they've been here, but to completely whiff at QB under the guise that they want to find out if they are a "QB away" to total nonsense! You were almost correct back when you said that Fitz will never take a regular season snap for us.
I didn't write "Fitz going down put the offense behind," so my response wasn't an overreaction it addressed the point. "putting the offense behind" suggests that it was either on point or ahead at the time when neither was the case.I think you are over reacting a little. When your starter QB goes down the playbook shrinks b/c you didn't prepare for the QB to play. 20% chance? Where did you get that number? If Gibson didn't fumble, the defense gets off thefield on 3rd and 16, and Hopkins makes the FG we had a great chance to win this game.
pretty good assessment!Herbert and the big wrs were the story of the game, in addition to the chargers revamped oline pretty much handling our d line.
Herbert looks like the real deal. Congratulations to the chargers for that.
Positives:
Jackson is good
Heine can move the team down the field
Thomas is good
Gibson looked good when not fumbling
Also of note:
Cosmi held his own against Bosa. Wasnt awesome, wasnt terrible.
St Juste got abused by a team that looked to take advantage of the rookie. That is what they’re supposed to do. Presumably, he’ll get better.
The run defense looked good.
They don't understand Sty, once again we are sitting here with no qb just as we were last season.I didn't write "Fitz going down put the offense behind," so my response wasn't an overreaction it addressed the point. "putting the offense behind" suggests that it was either on point or ahead at the time when neither was the case.
BTW; there's another way to look at TH, and it involves him coming in as relief. We haven't witnessed him as a starter here. but in in relief much like Fitz has been in his career. Taylor Heinicke has one career start and 9 appearances in relief, his claim to fame comes as a result of those relief appearances. His one career start, against Atlanta in 2015 he was 33 for 53 for 274 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions.
I'll admit that the 20% was arbitrary, but it wasn't offered without considering who he is as a player. Think about this for a moment, I gave him a 20% greater chance of success than our starter because of his mobility and nothing else. Based on your reaction to it, perhaps I was being too generous???![]()
The cost of the coaching staff trying to fit Fitz into Turner's offense instead of trying to work offense around him speaks volumes about their assessment of Fitz. They knew a lot about him and decided to remake Fitzmagic/Fitztragic into Fitz-in-a-box as I knew they would. It's the only way to make sense out of signing him in the first place.True. Aside from Terry Mac's catch that set up the TD, The TD pitch n catch from Heiney to Thomas and a couple runs from Gibby. There wasn't a whole lot to cheer for offensively speaking. The Skins going 3/10 on 3rd conv didn't do the defense or themselves any favors.
Haven't we tried the Ryan thing before.. (see; Alex Smith)Even if we draft a qb in first round this year he will get hurt .. the curse of destroying qbs careers is real in washington . Thesiman, Rg3 Alex smith now fritz, just bring Matt Ryan next year and build the lines and get WEAPONs Ryan ,Hiencke and maybe a 3rd round qb
