What kind of game / pitching management allows their biggest homerun threat on the Royals to get to the plate with bases loaded 2 games in a row ?
AND he beats them both games with a grand slam ??

Servais at his finest no doubt- intentional walk is only 1 run, but a GS is 4 of em.

The Kelenic strike 2 call in the 12th was a killer though M's had already choked away many opportunities by then.

I am getting to the point where it surprises me more when Haniger goes on a hitting streak then when he goes in a slump. For a productive hitter numbers wise, he sure chases more bad pitches than anyone else I can think of with his ability.

Or how he dropped a foul ball because he jumped too early once he sensed the warning track even though there were plenty of room left. Should’ve caught the ball. It ended up not mattering because the batter struck out but it was annoying to see him do that.

I'm optimistic about the direction the farm system and program is going, but they are too many pieces away from a run this year. And a couple of the young guns need a bit more seasoning.

Hell, the staff agrees this wasn't the year. They proved it at the trade deadline.

I am a believer they need more talent. I watch Kelenic and I wonder if he is the real deal. Seen too many can't miss prospects miss and right now he has shown me little to think otherwise. I know all the writers that cover the team said prior to the year that he wasn't the next Ackley. Ackley batted .273 his rookie year so they are right though I don't think that is what they meant.

I guess Griffey just spoiled us.

LOL- Sims went nuts when we had the sacks loaded and a walk scored a run. He's almost as bad "loud" (but not quite) as Goldsmith. Our offense has been sucking so far. KC has turned the corner in recent play and is showing their talent. At least the M's are making August into September interesting this season, but 21 years with no post season won't be much of a surprise for me. It's always "next Year"-- Anyone know if JD & Co. got his extentsion yet? Sure wish we'd have a manager change though. I'm sure Servais is a nice guy, but I just don't see him managing a post season play off not to mention a WS team. He pitched to Perez again today with the sacks loaded and luckily there wasn't a slam this time. Perez shou;d be treated the same way we treat Trout at the plate imo.
