I really wasn't that worried when Felix gave up runs in the first. He's had a couple of those innings and recovered.

I worry more when he's showing signs of falling apart after the 5th and skip doesn't recognize it and pull him before the damage is done. He doesn't have the same license he used to. Let him recover from early gaffs, but he's got to be on a short leash for mid/late inning issues.

I watched the Sox/Yanks game yesterday I think and they had Teixieria in the booth with Sutcliffe and Teix talked about some pitchers hit 100 on the gun but it is a soft 100 while others hit 92 and it is a hard 92. He said the difference is how the ball finishes. Soft never picks up speed and is extremely hittable while hard picks up speed the last 10 feet and you can't adjust in time. I bring that up because Nicasio is the most hittable 96 in the league. But said he had never heard of that before which was interesting.

I commented during the reply of the first turn forward the cock game how wimpy all their arms were. 20 years later and times have changed. With Cruz and even Colome, the guys hit the weights a lot more these days.

Feels like either Servais is incredibly stubborn or stupid. I can’t begin to understand this type of commitment and this year Pasoz is much better than Nicasio and Colome

I wonder what's more important to Scotty.....winning a ball game OR giving some innings to the pen? Scott still has not learned how/when/who to use in the later innings. I just don't have much confidence in his ability to manage the pitching staff.

I never watched Nicassio anywhere else but it appears he needs to tweak his arm slot much like Paxton. Doesn't matter how hard Nicassio throws, his motion is the exact same as the pitching machine behind the dugout. Either he needs to tweak it or develop a hell of a changeup.
