Losing star players is a legitimate reason for a playoff series loss.
Of course it is...I'm not arguing that at all... I just wish people would stop using it as an overall excuse for losing a playoff series. There has to come a time where a team takes their lumps, tips their caps to the winning team, and then hopefully move on to upgrade/improve/re-evaluate for the coming season, if that's what's needed.

Hell, he was probably celebrating making this far into the playoffs without suffering a season ending injury. I don't think anyone in the history of the game has had worse playoff injury luck than CP3. lol

oh and of all years, this year he’s the one older vet not hurt as well. Who knows maybe it’s his for the taking. And if Giannis is out too he must be living life right

I don't see it really being used as an excuse, or being overused. I haven't seen anyone with any credibility using it against the teams that are still playing. Sure, whether the Suns or Bucks win, their fans will get teased a little about their "easy path". But that's about it.

There might be a footnote to point out that it was an odd year (72 games, short off-season, truncated playoffs) similar to last years bubble season. But not as a reason to diminish their title.
I agree with most of this.

lol

Their plane landed, there were thousands of fans there to greet them. Which, anyone who knows Suns fans could tell you, isn't terribly surprising. Should they have ignored them or sent them home?

If it were planned by the team, you might have a point, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I highly doubt that many people randomly showed up at the airport. It was planned by someone and that’s fine man it’s been 10 years I get it but once you pop the cork it’s popped. CP3 was celebrating like he just won the whole thing before the game was even over. And that’s understandable becasue the guy hasn’t even won a conference finals…. But you gotta keep the eye on the real prize. We will see what happens but in my experience, once you celebrate it’s over.
You realize Giannis isn't 100% right?

If Giannis isn't playing.....Holiday, Middleton, Lopez and Portis would all have replicate their game 6 vs the Hawks for the entire series vs the Suns to have a shot, And that's unlikely.

The way I read it is....it's sort of a wait and see situation....if the Suns win game 1 he could be back for game 2 in a somewhat limited role on Thursday.....but if the Bucks take game 1 tonight...they'll likely hold him back until the series shifts back to Milwaukee on Sunday. The objective being, getting that 1-1 road split.

My concern is not so much whether he will play.

I don’t think he helps the Bucks playing at far less than 100%.

He tends to get in the way offensively at times when he is healthy. He stands and goes ISO from the top.

If he isn’t well enough to be productive in those touches and play top tier defense, the Bucks might be better off without him.

He is a dominant player at his best, but I fear his skill set isn’t one that will be helpful to his team if trying to play hobbled.

I hear ya, bro.
We shall see.
And for lack of a better analogy....but as the saying goes...."the ball is in their court"
*with pun intended btw.

Saw someone post that he looks like a Veggietales character lmao!

Not sure if it's the case with him, but that could be due to a thyroid issue.
I was a bit miffed last year when the Knicks decided to let him go.
Good to see how he's evolved into a vital piece for the Bucks..as well as becoming a crowd favorite.

Yep...injuries are a part of the game. Many times over the years it came down to bench strength, depth and coaching strategies to compensate, and a little bit of luck. This season really hasn't been an outlier as far as any of that goes. Sometimes the better team loses....and the team that makes the appropriate adjustments wins.
Holds true in every team sport...not just basketball.
This year has definitely been an outlier in terms of injured stars in the playoffs
