Do you honestly think this team is a cup contender with Ekholm? He ain't that good and the rest of our D core sux balls. We need a huge defensive reload in the off season or we'll never even sniff it.

We were cup contenders last year with Nisky and Eckholm is very close in talent to Nisky. How could we not benefit this year in picking up a top line defenseman.

I am so tired of just being around the middle and we need a shakeup to get better. If you dont do anything we are destined to stay around the middle and not go any further.

Do you honestly believe we have a chance at winning a cup in a year or two keeping low rounders and Frost and Gus?

Looks like AV said after practice that Elliot would start tomorrow, Hart on Sunday.

I was listening to NHL radio (woo free trials) yesterday and I thought they had an interesting take on the Carey Price vs. Jake Allen stuff in Montreal. The guy basically said you can win a cup with Carey Price, can you win one with Jake Allen? Basically saying, it's worth it to try to get your stud back on the rails, even if you lose some games in the short term. I think that goes for the Hart/Elliot combo too. The Flyers shouldn't have a hard time making the playoffs, do what you can to get Hart going again.

Back to back this weekend, so they were probably going to split anyway. And 6 games in the next 9 days, they were both going to get a few regardless.

Ain't that the truth. He juggles lines constantly. I'd be surprised if the Flyers have gone back to back games with the same lines this season. Some due to COVID/injuries, but still.

This makes it even more disturbing the rags who are short handed can destroy Boston but Philly can't hang with them. Even the isles shit kicked them. It's like they have decided to not even show up against that one line team. I may be exaggerating but am I?

As per the trade options I agree something needs to be done but if you are selling the farm you must get a very good player back. Josi not ekholm which probably won't happen. The other option is to wait until closer to the deadline this way it's normally a little better.

I'm not worried about it. We went 3-1 against Boston last season, including a 4-1 road win when it mattered most, and how did that work out for us? We've been shorthanded for virtually every game with them this season, especially the last one, and still three of the five losses were very competitive games.

Besides, assuming we close this one out today, we'll be 10-1-1 against everyone else. That's pretty damn good. The lone regulation loss was against Buffalo early on and they look pretty bad right now, so they don't concern me.

Agreed they have been good against everyone else but what does it matter if they can't get through Boston? They simply don't have a defensive pairing or even strategy to handle their only line of concern. They let them skate all over them with no effort to stop them it's unbelievable . Unless they trade for a dman who can actually do something to help stop that line or if the coaches can come up with a better game plan against them they won't win 4 of 7 against that team. I'm just being honest here...it does not look good right now as it is. Their special teams have also went to shit against them so that doesn't help.
