Watched a great 30 for 30 about the Pete Carroll years at USC called "The Trojan War" Man, those were good years. I was surprised at how much that loss still hurts where SC threw away the game against Texas in the Rose Bowl that would have been a 3-peat national championship. I almost couldn't watch that part. But damn that victory over Notre Dame with the "Bush Push" was incredible.

I agree. The CFB ones are usually pretty good. Pains me to say, but I still think The U and The U Part 2 might still be the best though.

There was talk about Nebraska getting one for the 90's, but it fell through. Idk what the deal is, but if there is a dynasty that deserves one, it would be Nebraska through the 80's and 90's.

I'm no fan of tejas, but that game wasn't thrown away. Vince Young took that game away.

BTW: Nobody underachieves like tejas. NOBODY!!

That would be interesting, or even Tom Osborne. It's funny too, because Nebraska is featured in both Miami ones, the Colorado one, the Oklahoma (Boz) one, annnd there may be one more. Yet nothing.

Is what it is. I try to stay positive and think they are just waiting for Nebraska to make some noise in the football world before releasing one lol.

Fumble at the 4 yard line, Reggie Bush's ridiculous attempt to lateral the ball after a 50 yard run and not having Bush in the game on 4th and one when they would have run out the clock. Leading 38 to 26 with 6 minutes left? Yeah, they threw it away alright.

Did they stop Vince Young when they had the chance?

They were so banged up on D that they had Jimmie Walker's kid starting at Corner. He wanted no part of Vince Young But in answer to your question, they would not have had to stop Young if Bush was not on the sideline in the 4th and one that cost them the game.

No way to know that. They gave it to the bigger more powerful back in White, and he was stuffed. Saying Bush was a “sure thing” is nothing but speculation.

Bottom line is Texas stuffed the play they ran. We can speculate about any number of other possible plays, but what happened is all we know.

True. But you cannot deny that Bush should have at least been on the field if for nothing more than for a decoy out wide to loosen up the middle. As it was all 11 guys could plug the middle

Ok, you did it. I am lost now. What on Earth would have given you that idea or is this a troll attempt?
Intelligent, a leader and wildly popular in Nebraska. Look what Tom Osbourne did. Frazier would have been very successful in my opinion

Yes and no. Had Reggie Bush not tried that lateral or USC converts that 4th and 1...VY likely isn't in position to take that game.

But damn he was amazing.

I don't think it was about Bush getting the ball. It was more about the threat of Bush getting the ball. The kid that stuffed that run, likely has to wait a split second to make sure that Bush didn't get the ball. That probably allows White to get the first down.

Having said that, my view on it is the same now as it was then. If that offense can't get 1 yard on 4th down with the National Championship on the line...they don't deserve to win.

Had SC beat Texas don't they just lose that NC because of the penalties they were hit with by the NCAA?

I still think Pete Carroll truly skated on that bullshit, but coaches always seem to. When times are good, college football HCs know how many fingers the QB's girlfriend is stickin up his ass when they're fuckin. When the NCAA comes a callin though those same college HCs are suddenly flicted with the worst possible case of late late late stage Alzheimer's. They don't know shit then.
