Terrible decision. But could be that Rivera doesn't like what he sees from Haskins. Would make more sense to trade him at this point then.
Cap issues will likely negate that

that perceptions that Haskins was not great, and not performing well were NOT JUST because of the media narrative or because ppl didn’t like the name redskins.
Never said that. And I agree with ya. See, we actually agree!

Smart move, especially since they're only a half a game out of 1st...

Haskins was the 1st Ohio St QB drafted in the 1st round since 1982 and only the 3rd one ever. Wouldn't say that is a long track record. And I think most agree he shouldn't have been a 1st round pick...late at best but going into the draft I expected 2nd round.
Being the 1st Ohio State QB drafted in the 1st round since 1982 means what exactly? Nothing if you can't back that shit up.

No I know!!! That was all I was trying to and have been saying in that other thread..... the other skins fan, and I like him, believes its because they don’t like the name redskins.

I dont see how this is a terrible decision. Just because you let a guy play doesn't mean he is going to get significantly better. And for Haskins to be a legit NFL starter he needs to get SIGNIFICANTLY better.

Josh Rosen started 16 NFL games and the ENTIRE NFL saw enough in those 16 games to know that he wasn't worth a roster spot in this league.

And Rivera is a new HC in WA. If I am starting out in year 1 knowing I have probably only 2 or 3 seasons to put up a winning season or get fired and never be a head coach again, I sure as hell don't tie my horse to Haskins either.

No.... it’s been stated for months.... that’s why I actually jumped in to bag on him ...
Ahhh. Well I believe there is a behind the shadows agenda concerning shitting on Danny about the name. Just have to look at the pressure brought by Fedex who doesn’t seem to care about sending products from Chiefs, Braves etc. it’s all about cancel culture political correctness gone too far... JMHO

No doubt.

Just odd timing seeing as this last loss wasn't on Haskins. Maybe because Dallas lost to Cleveland in the way they did? Idk.
Think the weak division has everything to do with it myself.

Plus I don’t care what anyone says. The d will play BETTER with better qb play. Hard to go balls out knowing your gonna be let down repeatedly
They’ve had to protect awful field position all year

I think Riviera didn’t want Haskins and looked at the schedule and saw that the next six or seven games are not that strong opponents and those games could cement Haskins as his starter. So better to make the move now than later.I know he doesn’t look at any part as a gimmie and if he believed in Haskins, this would be a good opportunity, but I could also see that he believes he’s not long-term and he wants to be able to move on.

Haskins stats compare favorably to Rosen fwiw
