Me too. If it's not the BPA.
I don't ever think a rb should be bpa in round 2. Unless taylor or swift are there. Same With wr. Unles Jeudy or lamb is there. The only others I wil not be super pissed about are Jefferson
And Aiyuk.

There's a couple IOL there at least with second round grades from what I've seen. Most would fall in the 3-4 round grade.
There’s a handful of OTs that could be moved inside. Or they could already have a plan to move Feiler back inside, as ATL has pointed out before.

There's no telling what the board will look like. If another position drops, all bets are off. But there are 3-4 running backs and 7-8 WR in this class that would be an excellent value at 49.

Above my pay grade man. Moving them around and whatnot. That's for guys like you and ATL96 to tell me what's what haha.

Always like Stefen. Good pickup. He'll be an excellent IOL backup, and I'd trust him to play well when he gets the opportunity.

My wish is always BPA but it would be really nice if that was an IOL. Baring that, RB, WR, OLB would be my hope in the second/third. But I'm a stickler. If the BPA is hands down an ILB you make the pick. The NFL is fluid. Your strength one year is your weakness the next. Teams who pass on superior talent to take a clearly lesser talent to fill a need usually regret it.

Lot of truth in your comments, and pre FA, it was more feasible than it is now imo.

The reality of the NFL is very few teams are true BPA drafting teams because teams always have needs due to FA. Yes, you can use FA to fill needs, but ultimately teams still draft need over BPA a lot of the time...think about it...most of the time a QB is not the BPA when they are drafted. Same thing with a LT...if you need one and a higher rated LB is on the board, 95% of teams are going to take the need position unless that higher rated guy is like the Simmons kids this yr...he's the 5 percent talent.

Another example is Chase Young...on some big boards, he's the #1 talent in this draft regardless of position...WAS could use a whole lot of things, but pass rush is one of the few they actually have enough...but with a generational talent on the board...they almost have to take him.

Closer to home....Wisniewski will help take some pressure off the LG position, but I don't expect it to change the Steelers board much.

I think QB is an outlier. The position is so important that it skews any comparisons.

But I agree. I think teams do draft more for need than they should. Especially the Steelers. Which is why we draft guys like Artie Burns.

Yeah QB is not a good analogy....trumps all other positions.

I think it's more need based drafting than BPA league wide is my point...I'm not thinking the Steelers are any moreso. TJ was a need pick as well...he just worked out. Burns was simply a reach...they weighed physical talent over football skills. They did the same thing with Dupree and kinda got rewarded, not so with Burns. The opposite of what they did with Jarvis Jones....they learned their lesson.

The teams that are more likely to draft BPA are bad teams because they often can stand to improve at almost every position. A good example of this was the Giants taking the RB Barkley #2 overall...a playoff team is not taking a RB #2 overall. The talent level still matters, but position value was not something we talked much about 10 yrs ago...that's a bigger piece of the puzzle now.

Love it assuming the price is right. Team needs interior linemen in the worst way and they get a competent veteran who can play C/G
This now explains the Pouncey restructure. Good move on their part.

Honestly, I'd wonder if Stefan would be the better OC starter at this point.

Pouncey was kinda trash last year.

This is the scariest restructure...the very basics of the position (snapping the ball) was a struggle at times.

Agreed.

Ben covered up for a lot of Pouncey's problems recently. Lot of amazing grabs from terrible snaps the last few years. The backups couldn't do it like him.

This. I truly think it was all along. Ben just had that ability to handle all snaps and I don't think Rudolph/Hodges have that skill. As long as Pouncey is the center they need Ben and a backup similar.

Once Ben hangs it up, it's gonna be a lean year or two. They are clearly pushing financial Armageddon for the year after he retires.

We'll see the financial bad deals, like Pouncey, all toll at the same time by design.

And then we're gonna be in position to draft Ben's true replacement the next year. But that's gonna be one incrediballs shitty season.
