I could see him as a late 1st or 2nd round pick. He might be the pick, if Howie goes CB in the first. Johnson's speed may take him out of the 1st, although he is field fast. Good player - we'll see. I think free agency will have a lot to do with our 1st round picks, plus if Howie makes moves to get up from #32! :D

I never like the whole comparison game they do of guys coming into with players already in the league but Johnson to me is the next Larry Fitzgerald

Henry Ruggs was injured today. We'll see if it's serious, and affect his draft stock. The more I hear of Shenault, I'm liking him more and more. He could last until late in the 1st.

This is going to be a great WR class .... Bama alone has 3 receivers I'd be fine with in Rd 1. DaVonta Smith doesn't get anywhere near the pub he should be getting. Dude's a heck of a big play threat and certainly has a chance of going in Rd 1. Would not shock me at all if he ends up being the best of the 3 at the pro level (great hands and route running as well as speed). I've been high on Shenault for a while ... dude's a mix of TO and Hines Ward; Colorado is just a crappy passing team; he's a 1st rounder all the way. Then of course you have CeeDee Lamb ... the Eagles would be aces landing any one of those 5!

Agree Rey. No matter how low or high in the first, we should be able to grab any of those 5, plus I'd be OK with Tyler Johnson, and Tee Higgins too, although I also prefer the other 5. The combine should help to rate these 7 guys next month.

Screw just the first round, if they take wide outs with the first two picks I wouldn't be upset at all. Time they gave Carson so new blood to invest in the future...

Its like watching Andy not draft any receivers all over again

Agree, but it is more prudent to take a WR in Rd. 1; a CB or Sa, in the 2nd; and back to a WR in the 3rd; and then a DB in the 4th; after that, draft for depth at DT, DE, LB, etc.

KJ Hamler just may be available in the 3rd round. Due to depth at WR, and size. Don't be shocked!

WR is deep this year but S is fairly thin at the top. If a top 2 S is available in the 1st that should be the heavy favorite although getting a monster LB would be very helpful.

And a stud CB too. That said, to me the BEST need still is a stud WR, and a little later, another one. But, as always the BPA is the best strategy. Free agency may yield a couple players without breaking the cap bank.

In case you didn't know: we have an extra 3rd, and two 4ths in the draft. Yippee! If get a good
WR, say Robby Anderson in FA, and draft a stud receiver like Shenault, then we can address a Safety, and a corner in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and then come back and grab another WR in the 3rd with the comp pick. That leaves us three in the 4th to get depth at DT, DE, and LB. If we do this, plus whatever we can get in the 5th and 6th rounds, we will have a haul for the 2020 season! :hope:

It won't matter how many picks we have if we keep missing on the solid picks. I have no confidence in our drafts with Howie reaching.

I like Byron Jones best on that list - he is a very underrated player in the Cowboys defense, and much better at CB since they moved him there from Safety. He's not a flashy playmaker, but he's a very good cover guy. In the prime of his career, Cowboys will not be able to afford him (they've got Dak and Cooper to pay) and getting him will weaken a division rival plus address our biggest need. He would be my top priority FA this off-season.

I also like Shaq Lawson from the Bills as someone that might be had at a reasonable price to add to the DL rotation. I have no idea what his market will be but if he gets past that first wave of FA, at the right price he would be a nice addition. Really liked him coming out of college.

Agree. Lurie better get a good GM and improved scouting so we don't do such things as passing over guys like Metcalf, McLaurin, etc, and pick JJAW who should have been a 4th round pick, or later.

That should enable us to get one of the top 5 receivers.

As of now I would say Lamb and Judy would be off the board at that point, but there will still be options. I think the Eagles will go hard after FA WR Robby Anderson this off season; if we can snag him I think the emphasis for Rd 1 changes to the 2ndary.
