He can't afford to be picky

It's not exactly the most difficult concept to grasp.

Guys like Kawhi and Paul George, even though they play for what is now the rival Clippers, are decently liked on this board because they at least gave the Lakers some thoughtful consideration.

Guys like Westbrook and Harden, even though they're from LA, have never even considered playing for the Lakers. Both those guys kept signing one early extension after another, something that was pretty much a death sentence when it came any sort of popularity here at Sports SportsHoopla.

Not exactly rocket science.

Aside from Kobe, who they played for really has no bearing on my judgement of them from a fan perspective.

Kawhi and George are more liked on this board because both are universally better players than both Westbrook and Harden. Westbrook and Harden excel at the game in a way that is no conducive to winning. Their impact on their teams, while superb in the stat department, often times is detrimental to the outcomes when it comes against superior opponents. On a given night in the regular season both of those guys are phenomenal, but in the playoffs when a team is able to game plan its completely different.

Watch what the Warriors (this years suck ass version) did against the Rockets on Xmas day. They implemented a game plan that played to weaknesses of both players and were able to get a win. They forced the ball out of Hardens hands and limited his freethrow opportunities. He was basically a spectator for most of the game at the top of the key. Then, they forced Westbrook to become a volume shooter. He took 32 shots, hitting 11.

You not being able to take an unbiased approach and actually dissect their games shows here with you clinging to low hanging fruit as to why both players are unliked.

.

When exactly did PG give the Lakers any thoughtful consideration? Other than renewing his contract with Indiana the only time he was a free agent was in 2018 and even then he re-signed with OKC the moment the clock hit midnight on July 1st.

He never met with the Lakers organisation or even had a phone call with them. The only link Paul George ever had to the Lakers was when Magic winked when mentioning his name on Jimmy Kimmel.

Additionally, it's not just Lakers fans who don't like them.
You're exactly right on this one.

It's California residents in general. Namely Warriors fans in addition to Lakers fans. Because once their team sucks, there's only one other team they root for that resides downstate.

O

Or maybe you're like Caitlin Jenner and you are a trans woman but you still like girls? Young, high school girls?

The fact that you needed to make a second post in order to support your 6th grade-level comeback suggests that this convo is over.

Since you're the only one making an attempt at being objective, I'll comment on this once I get home from work.

How do you explain tlance and a few others on here who don't live in California?

Your Lakers penis envy is embarrassing enough. But now you have it for the entire state of California.

I get it, you're a pasty white Indiana doughboy who doesn't get out of his Mom's basement much.

Here's some free advice...forget about the Lakers, forget about California, put your cat down, climb the the stairs for something other than refilling the Hot Pockets in your mini-fridge, go somewhere that actual adults hang out (i.e. not high school girls jv basketball games) and see if you can get an actual adult female to talk to you.

Or just continue to embarrass yourself on the interwebz with stupid posts and "breakthrough blogs"...I don't give a fuck either way.

honestly, your post isn’t worth an objective response. It is the same conspiracy theory garbage to why you believe you aren’t respected. And it is total BS.

There are 450 active NBA players. Maybe 50-60 who are either current or past stars. Most of them don’t have LA or California ties. And most of them aren’t disliked the way Harden and Russ are.

It is all about their play.

and for the record, I was anti-Russ from the start. During the KD days and during his MVP season when everyone else was worshipping him. He goes harder than anybody. But his game has serious flaws.

LOL.

I was writing my reply and didn’t see this.

He actually believes I am a Warrior fan.

Yet, the fact remains true. Had Westbrook and/or Harden hit unrestricted FA at least once to this point in their careers, there is no real way to deny they'd be more popular than they are right now. Lakers or not.

Your cat comment is quite low. I may have wished injury on Paul George once but I never wished death on him.

Ummm....

no.

They would have gotten super max contracts either way. They have both changed teams via trade. Free agency would not have made them more popular. That is silly.

Especially considering that if anything, players tend to receive a lot of hate when they change teams via free agency. Don’t see how that would possibly help their popularity. In fact, Westbrook’s popularity got a major boost when he stayed after KD left.
