Not sure how much you saw but it was beyond the usual dumb. 3rd and 3 then 4th and 1 in key spots in red zone and not only does Hilliard get in on 3rd, but it's Baker on 4th (to be fair, I think he made it). Chubb not even in the game.

Gave it to Hilliard again on a 3rd and 3-4.

Yep you have a likely pro bowl RB and you don't use him in key spots.

It was 4 yds...I looked at the play again. It looked like single man coverage presnap to me, but it wasn't the coaches tape so hard to see if the S was shading to OBJ at presnap.

My take is ultimately you need a TD to win, it didn't appear that he even gave him a glance....if they only needed FG to win and 4 yds gets them into FG position...okay, I can see having tunnel vision on a 4 yd pattern...your franchise QB, you would hope he's always looking downfield.

Playcalls are almost always a hindsight perspective...when they don't work...lol...if he completes the short pass, whether they go on to win or not, we're not talking about him overlooking OBJ. In the case with the sneak...I think with Chubb out, maybe the thought was they don't think it's going to be a run...idk why you wouldn't have him in there?
Saw the play again. Got that ball off real quick. Yeah, we saw OBJ open, but think maybe he was open after he threw the ball. Also think Harris ran the wrong pattern as he nearly ran into Landry.

The worst was having him out 4th and 3 and giving it to Hilliard.

Reminds me of the Browns - with Mack and Byner - giving the ball to Herman Fontenot on 3rd and 3 or 4 on their drive in OT in The Drive game.

Yep noticed that on two occassions. Chubb on the fucking bench in two key spots where the drive was depending on a first down. Chubb isn't tired or injured...he is just standing on the sideline. And Hilliard gets the carry who is basically a back that is only in bc of his pass-catching ability.

The team hasn't been good but Kitchens is a joke.

I wish you were wrong. And, frankly, better hope you are right (and I think you are). Because if Baker is the problem that is worse.

Yeah, but they were playing the toughest schedule for offenses in the league, so it's kind of a regression to the mean in a sense.

yeah regardless watching him play he was not in sync early in the season. He didnt look good. Looks a little better now but still see improvement. If a guy were to just look at stats for that first half 6-12 ratio it doesnt say half the story. He’s had plenty of drops and half his picks seem like they are tipped and placed perfectly in the defenders’ arms. Either way, the Browns have a long way to go still imo. Gotta keep winning, get more experience together and beat a legit good team. They have been in so many close games but cant get the W

All bets are off if the Browns squeak by the Steelers next week.

Theyre playing the Dolphins. Pump the brakes, turbo.

November

1031 yards 64.7 completion pct. 8 tds 1 pick.

100.2 QB rating

Yep against lesser comp than they faced earlier but the Steelers and bills have good defenses

Agreed with all the above my only point in calling this out is there is a big difference between bust and developing. He's still developing

So we cannot credit him when he plays well against bad teams but playing very good to elite defenses (which he has nearly every game) cannot be used as a mitigating factor for his struggles?

mayfield and the browns look good against poor competition and bad against good competition. they are the epitomy of an average team right around the 8-win mark.

i give them a chance of grabbing the last wild card if they can get a win in pittsburgh this weekend.

Been wondering all year what he'll do against the dregs like Miami, Cincinnati and AZ. Teams LJ has feasted on this season.

That said, to be elite he needs to be matchup proof.
