all true but it doesn't change the fact that Solak should be our starting 2b and Odor should be out. Odor has had his time in the Sun and he needs to be moved or benched

Considering we know that won't happen, I'd rather have Solak in the lineup (at 3B) than not, unless we sign Rendon of course

Maybe when his contract is up, that might happen. If he has a good month at the end of the contract then they will probably pick up his option. Don't count on him going anywhere before then.
well excuse me if I hope JD grows some balls and unloads him

I hope we sign Rendon as our 3rd Baseman but I also want to see Solak on the field too. that leaves 2b as the only choice for him unless you want to see him try 1st or CF as an option and then what about Santana and Guzman? odor is a roadblock that needs to be pushed to the side

You're right. He is a block as is Choo without many answers. Can't imagine anyone wanting Odor nor JD paying his contract off.

the sad thing is the fans can see Odor is a roadblock, but the front office can’t. They actually view him as a very important piece.

Hope? You?

That's absurd, you have their whole offseason planned out in your head already, why bother with hope at this point?
Do i? Every fan Hope's their team makes some moves during the off-season. Yes there are moves I would like to see but in the end like every fan I will have to live with whatever moves JD makes and hope we do good. I thought part of the reason for this board was for fans to Express what they would like to see happen with their team. Sorry mine doesn't goosestep with yours

I think there is more to the simple statement in that the "front office can't" see an issue with Odor. For those in that position there is more to it than just unloading him. And I would think it also goes beyond the front office.

No to Perez, Holland, Smyly, Moore, Miller, Ross, Detwiler and Cashner who crashed and burned at the end of the year. So no to almost the whole list.
Agree. All this says is we are not going all in to win. Hope that is not the case.

don't see us going all in to win this coming season but I hope that we do better than any of those on this list. those on this list almost raise the word "tanking" in my thoughts

Nothing is official about Sullivan's article. JD may jump up and surprise us. Let's give him time to tell us what is on the table. Rumors is all we have now and you can see how that gets ya going.

Stubborn pride can be a dangerous thing in any kind of business. I think that is the driving force behind them appearing to be blind in this. Maybe after Chop and Prince, JD sees admitting to this mistake would be seen as strike 3.

Yeah, I try to work a balance out in my own mind. On the one hand you have their recent history which cries out "don't hope for anything." Then I tell myself that this year is different because the cavalry on the farm is closer. That males me think we could make a couple of very good moves. Then I can't get the whole Odor mess out of my mind, and wonder how I can expect them to make good moves if they won't do the right thing with Odor and Solak.

That is why sometimes I appear to be more optimistic than at other times.

What I don't like at all is the idea that they aren't giving out any contracts longer than 5 years. That automatically cuts out any chance of signing premium free agents. I hope T R Sullovan is wrong about that.

I hope I am wrong about a lot of things I suspect they will do also.

that would be extremely disappointing.

I was under the assumption that we would go after tier 2 and tier 3 free agents. Not tier 5 and bargain bin quality. This ownership group really sucks if that is what they try again this year.
seemingly every year this team ownership thinks that just putting 25 players on the field is enough and that the fans don't really care about the quality of the product

it is strike 3 a blind man can see that. he just needs to man up and admit a mistake was made and fix it
