They're booked all the way through the end of November.

Mostly east coast markets then one in Nashville and a couple in the midwest.

Also just a headsup. These shows don't have to sellout to turn a profit. Im guessing only a dozen or so arena shows the WWE runs are true sellout and many are heavily tarpped.
The scalpers got burned on this show. Not as many people want to travel midweek. I doubt it happens again.

Not true. They have a new date in December, on the 4th. It says Champaign, IL. which I assume to mean Univ. of Illinois. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. My point ultimately was you (AEW) have got momentum on your side, why aren't you announcing more dates for December? I'd say January, but Jericho has his cruise that month so I can see why AEW would hold off on announcements there.

I wasn't talking about profit. I was talking about perception that you (AEW) are the newest, hottest ticket on the market. Isn't that what you told me was the reason scalpers bought up nearly all of the tickets there and in DC? Also, isn't it odd that you don't hear about anymore sellouts for future AEW events? Well it isn't odd to me, as I have a good idea why they aren't selling out.

I predict you'll be wrong about the scalpers getting burned, especially with the Philly show. I see a lot of tickets still available for that show on Ticketmaster and other secondary outlets. That doesn't mean they ultimately won't "sell out", but they'll probably have to sweat it out. Like I believe they did in DC.

You've completely lost me on this one.

The latest Raw date announced on WWEs site is December 9th. 8 or 10 weeks is generally the ideal timeframe to announce tickets to a show. Theres nothing abnormal about AEW not announcing anything beyond that date.

Ticket scalping is a speculative investment. Were scalpers going off numbers for shows like All In , DON, and All Out and incorrectly assuming these shows would have a higher demand then they do/did? Absolutely. Does that hurt AEW or make them look bad in any way? No. Its the scalpers getting burned. Its not just sweating it out. For the Washington and Philly shows they have to sell a lot of the seats at below market value.

Now that they popped a 1.4 million viewer number and beat NXT decisively in week 1 they have bigger things to hang their hat on than ticket sales. Without postseason baseball and WWE counter programming that number would have been even more impressive.

This week has been bad for ticket scalpers and people who thought the WWE was the only company that could make it at a big time level in the US.

It's great for the WWE, AEW and wrestling fans in general. Everyone should enjoy it.

Dynamite did an excellent rating Wednesday night with a 1.4 rating, trailing only the MLB Wild Card game in cable ratings Wednesday. NXT did a 0.8.

I hated the fucking Audio. That’s something WWE kills everytime. The entrance music was so low and when Jericho was cutting that promo at the beginning all I could hear was a fucking echo
The audio didn't really affect my watching it. What drives me up the wall that they do that WWE has been doing a lot over the past 5-10 years is cut to the crowd shot after someone hits a move. I can't stand that!

So how do you explain Pittsburgh, and the cities announced after Boston and Philly sold out, not selling out? Keep in mind AEW hadn't shown one second of Dynamite yet and they were damn near breaking their arms from patting themselves on the back over the DC, Boston and Philly sellouts. It also makes AEW look small time that they celebrated Boston DC and Philly selling out and then...crickets.

I should say looked small time, now that they're trotting out boo-boo faced Chris Jericho to put his version of spin on the ratings. Did you know that it's a war again? Yeah boo-boo faced Jericho said so, well kinda. You see according to boo-boo faced Jericho it's a war according to WWE, and only...WWE. AEW are paragons of virtue, who were only minding their own business. Until the big meany head WWE came and picked on them...or something.

From the first events up to the premiere of AEW Wednesday Night Dynamite. AEW is the promotion that I have been waiting for since the Monday Night Wars came to an end. Easily the most entertaining since the WWE Ruthless Aggression Era.

There are a variety of factors but regional population size is arguably the most important.

Pittsburgh has a city population of close to 300,000 people and a metro population of close to 2.4 million.

Philadelphia has a city population of close to 1.6 million people and a metro population over 6 million.

The Pittsburgh venue is also listed as having an extra 2000 seat capacity compared to Pittsburgh as well.

So the scalpers being too aggressive early on (and then correcting on later dates), market size, plus venue size are three of the biggest factors.

I think you meant Philly, but point taken.

The fact AEW isn't selling out and no one is calling them out on it is hilarious to me. But I'm guessing it will be conveniently forgotten now that they've got their new narrative. I don't think anyone will ever figure out the deal with the scalpers in regards to AEW not selling out their venues anymore. I certainly don't buy the reasons you've given, unless they've increased their very reasonable (according to you) prices as the reason for the lack of post-Philly sellouts.

No, I meant the Pittsburgh venue.

Edit- wait you meant Philly as the second locale. Great call. I type this stuff on my phone so its great to have the proofreading option

AEW will air all of its dark matches from Dynamite the following Tuesday on Youtube. The dark matches also count towards win/loss records and storylines so its not just your typical dark match, which are usually just throwaway matches meant to entertain the in house crowd only

Another thing I forgot to mention that made no sense, that even the announcers were bringing up. Why would Nyla Rose intentionally DQ herself when she's got a clear advantage and trying to win the championship? I hope that AEW can clean stupid things like this up (which I like NJPW for, their booking is solid) because I'd like to see them succeed.

I didn't care if they succeded, or not. But based on the trash ending to Smackdown Friday night, I still don't care if they succeed, but I'll def be watching them (and NXT on Thurs.).

AEW is doing a survey where you can give feedback on the show, what you'd like to see and your thoughts on wrestling in general. Takes about 10 mins if you've got the time. They've shown a willingness to listen to their fans in the past so this could be worthwhile to fill out

Wow. AEW Dark is an hour long. So they are basically gonna be giving away a free hour of wrestling every week on Youtube.

Just a headsup...

I got good news and bad news regarding tickets for tonight. A bunch of 20 dollar tickets appeared on Ticketmaster in the last few days, although I first saw them last night. That's the good news.

The bad news is I can't go. :gaah::gaah:

That sucks.

They haven't scheduled a NYC area show yet. That makes me think they'll be back in the northeast soon. It wouldn't shock me if they do one in Connecticut next time.
