I second that motion!

Bottom line is he couldn't have done any better and if he'd had a performance similar to Haskin's debut(2 INT's) for the Redskins he would have needed to be smuggled out of NY with a disguise.
Dude looked good last night
to be fair, I'm pretty sure his critics would rip him if he went 1-7 with 2 INTs...even though same people will dismiss the 5-5.Well all I know is I was hoping the Pats would have taken him. Three year starter, attended smart kid school, quality arm. But we did not so I move on..

Daniel Jones perfect in storm-shortened Giants debut
Daniel Jones' preseason debut was short but oh so sweet.
The New York Giants rookie signal-caller took over for Eli Manning in the first quarter of Big Blue's opener against the New York Jets. Manning got just one drive. Jones needed only one.
Jones, the much-ridiculed No. 6 overall selection, led New York on an eight-play scoring march on his lone drive of the evening. The rookie completed all five of his attempts to Cody Latimer, Golden Tateand Bennie Fowler for 67 yards. Jones was sharp on his designed throws and patient with his reads. His drive-clinching back-corner touchdown pass to Fowler was a thing of beauty.
The first-year thrower was set to come on for another drive, but the contest was suspended for nearly an hour due to severe weather. When Big Blue returned to the field, Jones was on the sideline and third-string QB Alex Tanney was under center.
In fairness: the way you and many, many others savaged this pick... it's a wonder that Daniel Jones can do anything more than walk on a field under his own power and drool on a football. Is this thing actually blowing up based on one drive in a preseason game? Matt Barkley went 9/14 with a 9.0 YPA and a TD last night against an a really good Colts team, who's he starting for this year?
One series. One game. A preseason game, at that.
So... tempered enthusiasm. A good start, though.
Jones reminds me of a somewhat more athletic Nick Foles. Which isn't too shabby.
It actually means nothing at this point. One series in one preseason games means literally nothing, as I illustrated with the Barkley statline. I honestly had no idea he was even in the league anymore, as his 59% comp% and 10:18 career TD/INT ratio would suggest. In fairness: the way you and many, many others savaged this pick... it's a wonder that Daniel Jones can do anything more than walk on a field under his own power and drool on a football.
The mere fact of Jones flashing potential in his first preseason action makes all that earlier commentary seem more than a little over the top.
