Sorry, this made me laugh. 1 int and signs of slowing down.

What would you consider a stud?

You are incredible bro. Made the pro bowl 3 of the last 4 years including last year. Made the NFL top 100 players list. I know I’ll get mocked for this but I got out my last two years of preview mags and he was rated 6th best last year and 2nd best the year before. He’s a top safety in the NFL and you’re absolutely nuts is you don’t think he is

There are definitely better DC's than Schwartz out there but in the postseason the Eagles defense has performed well under him. In 5 postseason games with Schwartz the Eagles have given up 20 or less points in 4 of those 5 games.

I'd take the the Eagles safeties and dline over Seattle's but LB for sure is in Seattle's favor and CB might be a bit of a toss up.

Offense I am without a doubt taking the Eagles over the Seahawks. From an on the paper standpoint the Eagles have the most talented offense in the league. I'd also put Doug as a top 4 or 5 HC in the league.

Also saying Eagles have just solid TEs is underselling that position big time. Ertz is a top 3 TE in the NFL and Goedert has all the ability and potential to be better than him. It'll just be a question of how many targets he will be able to get in a stacked offense.

D-line yes edge to Eagles but safety position and overall backfield Seattle's better. Overall defense Seattle ranked 16 to Eagles 23rd. On the offense Seattle has the better RBs. Ranked 1st last year vs Eagles 28th. I'm not selling the TEs short, I did say they're a solid group but Goedert Is kind of the odd man out with the other weapons Wentz has. I think he'll get about 35 catches this year. Agreed, I too think Doug is a top 5 coach.

Making the pro bowl doesn't mean much anymore. Most guys turn it down plus the SB teams guys don't go.
He was ranked 96th, yeah
I'll raise you 1 more 2018 preview mag. He was not on the top 10 list.
You think he's a stud and after last season how pathetic the entire backfield played, Jenkins included I don't think he is.

He’s loooong been an excellent player. When you make the pro bowl perennially you’re good. When you make the top 100 list you’re good.
I completely agree with you saying our CBs are a huge question mark but Jenkins is a leader on the team and one of the few safeties that can hit and cover. You might think he isn’t that good but everybody else does. I just got this years guide today and he’s 10th out of all 64 starting safeties. You’re wrong.

That’s weird. My 2018 mag has him 3rd.

I would without a doubt give safety to the Seahawks two years ago but they are not getting the edge at safety currently. Jenkins and McLeod is an extremely solid safety duo. Nowhere in the realm of Earl and Kam but Earl and Kam are long gone.

Eagles defense had an absurd # of injuries on the backend last season. They were scrambling most of the season. Even so by the end of the year they started to get their shit together by the end of the year. And I'll again circle back to how this defense plays come playoff time. Under Schwartz they have held teams to 20 or under in 4 or 5 postseason games. That's exactly what you want when you have an offense with as much potential to be prolific as the Eagles. I won't question that the Seahawks are better coached defensively, that's Plantation Pete's bread and butter.

Referencing the Eagles RBs last year is meaningless. Eagles essentially had their top 3 RBs injured for most of last season and were depending on undrafted and late round picks. They traded for Howard and drafted Sanders in the second round. Clement and Sproles are healthy (for now). It's going to be a vastly different running back group for the Eagles this season.

And TEs aren't just solid for the Eagles. With Ertz and Goedert the Eagles have the best set of TEs in the NFL. Goedert as a rookie had 33 receptions and I'm pretty sure the Eagles realize that was too few because everytime the ball was thrown to him he made a play. It will be tough to spread it around enough to all the weapons the Eagles have but I'm expecting 40-50 receptions for Goedert this season and a heavy presence for him in the redzone. The Eagles already lead the NFL last season with 13 TDs from 12 personnel in the redzone and that number should only go up this year. It will be very difficult for teams to match up with the size in the redzone when the Eagles being out Ertz, Goedert, Jeffery & JJ.

Um no...Not everybody does. In fact that's the big question about the entire backfield, Jenkins included.
Also add that Jenkins wants a pay raise and a lot of fans scoffed at that.
Honestly, no one cares about the top 100.

I don't remember Seattle's backfield blowing 5 late game leads and giving up the third most passing yards in the league. Yeah, they're no Kam and Earl but damn. I'll stick with Seattle.

Half of Seattle's RBs were injured as well to go along with a fat and out of shape Penny for 3/4 of a season and a 7th round draft pick carrying the load. Still ranked first in rushing. Clement sucks, Sproles is up there in age, Sanders is an unknown at this point and Howard's numbers have gone down and his fumbles went up last year.
I'll take Chris Carson and an in shape Penny if he's not fat again.

I'm not going to say they're a phenomenal group when the TE2 avg 2 rec per game. Give me 60 to 70 rec then yes, I'll say they are the best TE combo in the league. Like I said Ertz top 3 and a solid group.

THe only reason fans scoffed at it is because he is getting older and they dont want to give a long term contract to an aging star... and thats exactly what he is... a star.

We need the secondary to perform much better, he is right about that. But I dont get his deal saying Malcolm Jenkins isnt good. Its bizarre.

Just wondering when the Eagle fans might stop whinning about injuries.

They're not even close to being anywhere near the most injured team over the past five years.

Even last year where they want to claim how decimated they were there was still over 1/3rd of the teams who sent more players to the IR. Plus one other team the Seahawks who had the same amount.

NE won the SB and had only two less. Not to mention they lost almost their entire rookie class.

Oh and I'm still waiting for them to tell us when did they need to start a WR as a DB? I guess they just prefer to eat shit sandwiches while complaining and whinning.

I don't know the sense in referencing last year when the Eagles lost their starting corners and one of their starting safeties for the year and continued to get hit with injuries there throughout the year.

And Seattle ranked first in rushing largely because the Seahawks have been deadset on operating an rushing focused offense despite having Russell Wilson at QB.

Clement is a 3rd down back and for a 3rd down back when he is healthy he is a pretty damn decent one. The question is after last year if he will be able to remain healthy like he did his rookie year. Sanders is a an unknown but he is a second round pick with a lot of potential upside. Howard is on a contract year and is here to play physical runner role in our RBBC that Blunt filled in our Super Bowl year. I really like Chris Carson, I think he had a great second year. But overall as a group I'm taking Howard, Sanders, Clement & Sproles with the belief that Sanders will have a productive rookie season where he isn't depended on on to carry the load but just play an impactful part of a rotation.

Your rational for saying the Eagles don't have a great TE duo seems to be fantasy football based more than actual talent of players based. 33 receptions as a rookie says nothing about the talent and ability of Goeddert and just how the Eagles underutilized him lats year. He has been one of the standouts during the OTAs and now training camp so he's going to be forcing the Eagles to give him more targets in his second year. Goedert's talent and ability is top notch. When he is out there running routes he runs routes just like Ertz but he's bigger and far more physical after the catch. He is a far better blocker than Ertz and while Ertz has phenomenal hands Goedert had that special level of catching ability to pull down the one handed catches.

No doubt they need to play better. The secondary was absolutely pathetic for most of last season. But how they played at the end of the year considering everything gives me a bit of hope. LeBlanc showed up out of nowhere and he looked like he was a legit strong point at nickel. Maddox bounced around and played well everywhere but I thought when he was finally put at outside corner he established himself as the best on our team. Then you have the likes of Douglas, Jones, Darby and Mills when he gets back competing for that other outside spot. Jones could very well be a bust but if he can actually step up this season and live up to his pre-draft pre-injury hype then could actually end up being deep at that position.

"Most" as you say is incorrect.
Not only age but poor play last year why fans scoffed at it
I'm glad one magazine you hold near and dear to your heart ranks him third. I've seen other ranked worse or not ranked at all.
I never said he wasn't a good guy and yes he's probably a good team leader, but that's irrelevant to this covo.

Please stop with the injury excuses, my God. Every team goes through that.

A lot of guys have talent and abilities that don't pan out. Not saying Goeddert is in that category, but I bet you drank the kool aid when the Eagles moved ahead of the Cowboys to nab him and now think they have the best TE duo and one upping the Cowboys in the draft. A lot of young players have stand out OTAs, TC and preseason but I want to see more when the games matter. Teams game plan for Ertz, not Goddert at this moment.

We'll just have to agree to disagree on the better RBs and depth.
