It probably would get him more money, but it's also a character thing. I suspect Dak doesn't hold out. I'm fine with what Lawrence did. He got tagged once and immediately and happily signed the tag and told the team if you tag me twice I'm not going to be happy. If Zeke holds out he would be doing so when he is signed for two more years. That's ridiculous. I don't think he misses a game personally

I just really think Dak should hold out for one simple reason. He’s the franchise QB of the most valuable franchise in all of sports. That’s one of sports dream positions. He has made very little money as a 4th round pick and he’s literally gambling a 100 million guaranteed dollars. Why would any sane player do that especially seeing so many QBs getting severely hurt.

Why? What’s wrong with the NBA players having power too? Why should they back off and say, “Sure owners, you can have all the power. We will just sit back and do whatever you say”. Fuck that.
I think it is much better for leagues when the people in charge run things, not the employees. It is a proven best practice. Of course there are exceptions.

I think it’s better when companies share the power. It’s a proven best practice.
When companies let their employees have power and be invested in the company is how great companies are formed.

so they didnt break the contract? I agree:suds:

Money doesn’t have to be guaranteed to be a contract. Owners break contracts and players break contracts. Seems completely fair to me.

Maybe he should, but I hope he doesn't get it.
He signed a 4 year contract worth $2.7 million. He should also have brought in more than double that in endorsements.

Nope, it is not. Not to the extent of letting the employees name their price and choose their own job.

Capitalism, employee tries to get as much as they can in the market and employer tries to cut costs as much as they can so they make a bigger profit. If the owners don't want players doing this they need to increase the penalties for sitting out during the CBA negotiations.

Just because someone makes a lot of money it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t have any voice. And most football players make nothing close to that and have a very short window.

That is capitalism but it sounds like a lot of people around here believe if you’re super wealthy you make all the rules, fuck your employees and the workers should just shut the fuck up and take it. Both sides should have their power not just one side.

You really just don't make any sense and just make stuff up. Isn't there a sand box you can go play in.

I've told you the same thing over and over. You bring up stats (and only ones Dak doesn't excel in) because you don't actually watch the games and I explained to you over and over why certain stats are lesser and the various reason. Now you are trying to tackle big boy talk which is winning games. It's two different discussions. Dak is the main reason this flawed Cowboys team has won a lot of games the last 3 years - more than the rest of their talent would allow.
I've literally laid out every major statistic for QBs across the board and he's average in almost every single one of them. It's hilarious you pissy Cowboys' fans keep saying I'm "cherry-picking" when I'm showing every relevant QB stat and then several in-depth qualitative ones. Sorry you didn't see the results you want. If anything, you guys are the ones cherry-picking by using team metrics to say it's all Dak (4th quarter comebacks, for example) to show how great he is.

No, Dak is not the main reason. That's absolutely ridiculous. Zeke and the OL have propped him up and he's going to cash in big time on it. Is he a good QB? Yep. Is he a $30M+ level QB in this day and age? Absolutely not, but that's what you're gonna make him, even if he comes out with another year of average-level stats compared to other QBs. Then we'll just hear more excuses about how bad his cast has been or how his offense holds him back or some other idiotic excuses you haven't thought up yet. Rinse and repeat.

a voice is different than making demands.
A voice doesnt mean you have a say.

An employee looks after one person. themselves.

Way more layers of decision making as an owner of any company.

There is a hierarchy in the workplace for a reason.

That’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying power should be shared. I’m saying companies where employees have a voice and are treated well thrive and companies run by a tyrant and shit on their employees don’t.
I’ll never understand our cultures views on the super wealthy. “Hey, come shit on us because you’re more important”. Freaking nonsense

The power is shared thats what the CBA is. What Gordon and Zeke are doing is within the rules that the owners agreed to at some point they will be penalized for sitting out at that point they'll have to decide if sitting out to get their money early is worth the penalty.

The employee looks after fellow employees. It’s the owner who looks after one person.
I’m a strong believer in workers have rights, that they have a voice, have a right to negotiate because that’s capitalism. It seems like you’re saying, “I’d rather have one super rich person dominate everything, shit on me if they want... because they are rich”.
I believe in both sides having power. We all know what happens when one person accumulates all the power.
Look at Walmart. 3 kids inherited 34 billion each and won’t give their workers health insurance. Fucking sick bastards.

Screw him if he holds out. Stop getting into trouble, play out your deal and then come talk. Until then play or go the fuck home. The Cowboys can win the East without Zeke. At some point he needs to come back or he sits out forever. Don't let players hold you hostage.
