I'd also sign Cousins to play center if Leonard doesn't sign....that'd give us a solid team. And maybe JR Smith if he is bought out.

The other headline that got lost with all of the anticipation waiting news with Leonard deciding his future is we only have AD signed for a year on his present contract that came along in the Pels trade. Next summer we are going to go through this again if AD decides he wants to go somewhere else.

He'll sign an extension, he wanted to be a Laker....that's why his representation did what they did last season.

Boogie may not have a choice but to take minimum money. According to Woj, there is no market for him right now.

Danny Green is still available because he is waiting on Leonard. If Kawhi signs with the Lakers, Green will be a Laker.

I agree he is waiting on Kawhi, but I think it's to sign with one of the other two teams that miss out on Kawhi.

Those two teams on the outside looking in (Hopefully Clippers and Toronto) will have enough cap space for a larger deal than say what the Lakers would have available (~$4M) if they signed Kawhi. And I have to believe, if the Lakers miss on Kawhi, they will see Danny as a high priority Plan B dude and offer more than than the $4M they would of had left with their exception.

Then again, I thought Patrick Beverly was waiting to sign with either LA team that signed Kawhi, if Kawhi were to come to LA, and obviously I got that wrong, so who really knows. I hope your are right Retro.

Yep, we have signed some tier three guys in Troy Daniels and Jared Dudley (supposed big man who can shoot threes and provide vet leadership like he did with the Nets) while waiting for the Kawhi and Danny Green saga to play out. We have also offered Caruso the vet minimum and KCP is expected to follow with maybe a raise of a couple mil.

I saw that article by Woj too TJF12 and he's right. The Dubs don't want to re-sign him for the same money and if he insists and the Dubs are planning to trade D. Russell as has been intimated by the pundits, then he could be put in that package. Either way, he ain't going to get the big money anytime soon and the Lakers just may stumble onto the guy by default. The Lakers are planning to sign McGee. That leaves a third center roster spot open because Channing Frye ain't comin' back.

Yes. Jalen Rose conversely is saying he is 99 percent sure it will be Toronto. I guess we won't know until tomorrow when Leonard is reportedly going to make his decision. In the mean time, we should be signing Quinn Cook who has been released by the Dubs.

FWIW, the consensus seems to be there will be a decision today. That's just not randos speculating either, but some of the mainstream reporters (not clowns like Chris Broussard) saying it could be today.

Lakers are signing PG Quinn Cook to a 2 year, $6M deal. Lebron has been a mentor to Cook ever since he attended one of Lebron's camps as a high schooler, plus Cook spent some time with AD in New Orleans in 2017. Cook is a career 42% shooter from 3 (over 3 seasons with the Mavs, Pels, and Warriors). Most of his NBA game experience came last year with the Warriors.
