Yea, if we resign Rondo and Caruso, we have the makings of a pretty darn good backcourt and with all of the frontcourt additions, we are looking pretty darn good on paper.

Gasol said he wants to play two more years with the possibility of playing with his brother. Maybe Toronto will sign Pau to play with Marc because the latter re-signed with the Raptors.

Just because he was young when the injury happened, I have a fair amount of hope (He was on the younger side of 26)

Plus, when he was balling like that, he was playing along side of AD and Rondo, now here we go again with those two, except this time he will have Bron, and Kuz as well.

When it comes to an injury, doubt creeps in at the first sign of pain. I not only think he was out of playing shape, he was still in test mode in recovering from the Quad. You know, both the Achilles and Quad were on the same leg, and in my mind, those two injuries are related, especially considering he returned less than a year from the torn Achilles, and that Quad happened just 3 months later.

Exactly!

Agree with pretty much all of this.

Being young, helps. It's not like when Kobe tore his Achilles at 75 years old. lol

But, leg injuries on bigs are tough.

Perhaps it's a blessing that he has pretty much always been on bad teams? Not as much mileage on him.

There's definitely hope. Like I said, if he can play anything close to where he was, that could be huge for the Lakers.

Muscala and Bullock are not coming back. Muscala signed with the Thunder and Bullock went to the Knicks. That leaves Rondo and Morris available.

Well Rondo is signed RR and the Lakers have Caruso on a qualifying offer making him a RFA and gives the Lakers a chance to match any offers, so while Rondo is actually a Laker, Alex is a defacto Laker.

Maybe this guy is next in Purple and Gold?

That would complete some serious defensive weapons on this years version of the Lake Show!

Well Memphis has already told Iggy that they are not buying him out but want to get a team to trade for him which the Lakers are not going to do. Two has-beens attempting to make comebacks who want to play for the Lakers are Monta Ellis and Amare Stoudemire. I doubt if the Lakers bring those two in either.

Yes, it appears Denver is a willing partner for trade talks for the former Nugget.

Not surprised Kawhi didn't go with Lakers. Probably didn't want to be a #3 on team, with Clips he is main guy.

Not true at all. If he wanted to be the guy, why did he recruit KD and PG, or stay in Toronto and be the man???

I beg to differ, and I don't think it was about not wanting to go with the Lakers as much as it was going with what he thought would be his best option.

The Lakers were undoubtedly a good enough option for him to have a serious meeting in weighing his options.

Here's the difference that tilted the scales in LA...

And if that wasn't enough....

Lakers only have 1 more active roster spot I believe and one or two reserve spots. Since they signed Rondo (ugh) and Caruso, I think the more pressing need to is front court defense, specifically a 4 or 5 that can switch between both spots. Need to get a player like Faried or Jamychel Green. Still think they need to figure out a way to work in Avery Bradley but he's a guard so that front court depth need to take priority first.

I think the Lakers have their roster just about set. All the players that Shaqdaddy mentioned are done just like Monta Ellis and Amateur Stoudemire trying to make a comeback just to get those megabucks. I think the Lakers and Pelinka learned their lesson with guys at the end of their careers like Michael Beasley.

I read Kawhi called KD on June 30 and asked him to join him with Clippers. I wish they really knew how much Kwahi desired to be a Clipper, and never attempted to get him. Ohh well, we will still be ok.
