Say what you want about Jimmy Butler but he is a top 20 player and one of the best 2 way players in the league.

Every move the Heat make is bad according to Wiggy.

Can't take a guy like that seriously
its not my fault most of the moves are bad.

Thats how you get a team so far over the cap with a bunch of bad contracts and missing a bunch of first rounders.

Usually teams that have traded away a bunch of future picks with a bunch of fat contracts are good. the Heat have been pretty bad the last 3 years. I mean, what do you want?

i think they have drafted fairly well, but the trades/free agent signings have been abysmal.

i liked the Whiteside trade for Harkless and Leonard!!!

but yah.....i hate most of the moves because most are terrible.

They have done pretty well with the few draft picks they have had though in Winslow, Richardson, and Bam (though they turned down 4 first rounder from the Celtics for the Winslow pick---- and Bam was a solid late lotto pick but hardly a "steal"). Richardson ended up being one of the better 2nd round picks of the last few years in the NBA.

Waiters signing was mediocre to bad. J. Johnson signing was very bad. Tyler Johnson signing was plain awfull. Whiteside signing was awful. Olnyk signing was mediocre to bad.

We are going a few years back now, but the Dragic trade was solid, but they owe an unprotected first rounder for it coming up, and with the new lotto odds and teams jumping up with more regularity it could end up being an unmitigated Titanic/Hindeburg of a disaster if thigns fall wrong.

If you added “In my opinion” before every post you make, you might not sound like a complete moron.

The fact you think everything you say is the truth makes us all wonder how a highly successful lawyer like yourself is living on food stamps

You can say what you want about Jimmy Butler being ass, but let's review:

Chicago - By all accounts got tired of the situation in Chicago, and the front office there has no clue in what they're doing.

Minnesota - Apparently grew tired of KAT and Wiggins lack of work ethic and desire to win. Forced his way out of there.

Philly - Literally offered him a max deal to stay.

And now he's in Miami to be the lead man. He apparently has an issue with teammates that don't want to win and doesn't like losing - what horrible qualities. And in terms of mileage. For 6 straight seasons that spans from Chicago to Minnesota, he's averaged around 36 - 38 MPG and hasn't been past the 2nd round. I think he'll be fine.

But let me know how Cleveland is doing at the bottom of the league again. Enjoy hovering around the Knicks and the Suns....again.

I agree with a lot of this. I think that a lot of his reputation comes from how vocal he has been.

He's done some of the same things that guys like MJ and Kobe have done and been praised for. I think a lot of that is due to the fact that we didn't know about MJ and Kobe until after the fact..so it became part of their "legend" and looked at favorably.

But, in today's world, with social media, etc. that stuff comes out practically in real time. We see what actually happened and it always a good look.

It also says something that the Sixers offered him a full max to stay.

But it also says something that he turned down a max deal from a team that has a title shot to go be "the man" on a team that doesn't. Seems like winning might not be as important as being "the man".

Having said that, the Heat might be a really good fit for him. One thing he seems to really care about is that his teammates play hard every second they are on the floor.

Even though it hasn't translated to a lot of wins, over the past few seasons, the Heat have always shown up and played hard and I think Butler will at least appreciate that.

I get some of what you are saying but Woj is coming right out and saying that Butler obviously wants to be THE man and thst is why he is where he is. I’m not positive Philly offered him a super max deal either, in fact I have my doubts.

As I always said, it isn't always about the most money. Maybe it is being the man. In Philly, he was basically the 3rd option and I don't think he was the biggest fan of their offensive system. Other times, players have their preference about where they would like to live.

Agree. I mean, Lebron sure as hell didn't come to the Lakers because they were winning so many games. lol

I'm sure there are a lot of reasons he chose not to stay in Philly. Being the man is likely only 1 of them and may not even be the most important.

Sixers had one too. It was just overshadowed by the Lakers and Celtics.

I don't think the Celts were a superteam. They drafted Bird and Mchale and Parish and DJ and them weren't all-NBA players.

I do question how teams back then were able to have the best record in the NBA or close to, and still wind up with the #1 overall pick.

Did he steal your girlfriend?
he doesnt like the truth. would prefer to put his head in the sand.

i mean are there moves that have been good for the Heat hte last few years?

its how you get a team that is bad and expensive and with some of the least future draft capital in the league.

LeBron never played for the Sixers.

Why would he want to be third banana to LBJ and AD?
while he might, this is the only part that is somewhat confusing......guy showed he can win a title on his own and would choose to deal with the Lebron drama?

He doesn't seem like that type, but not like I've ever spoken to him.

i think he wanted to go to Miami and chill in the sun and not have any pressure or big expectations.

See, I don't understand that.

I can understand fans wanting that, but I would think Dinwiddie would want DAR to return. I mean don't these teams have any camaraderie anymore?

A super talent like Leonard doesn't need to play 2nd or 3rd fiddle.

Yeah it is weird. Basically means he wanted D-Lo gone if he was chasing BOTH.
