It means to me you were wrong, @buckalis ....though so was I as I didn't think you had it in you to say so.
I was wrong for thinking that the CAVs didn't pay lux tax during 14/15, because I forgot that this was the season that the cap space took a major step to increase for 16/17...

But you never admitted here that you was wrong to claim that the Cavs payed any lux tax this season and even implemented that they'll be paying some next season too, which is utter nonsense.

Not sure I claimed they did. I thought I said they went over the cap. If I said they paid the tax then yes...that was probably wrong.

also had to correct you that they never paid the repeater tax as they did.

You did and It was not "probably wrong", it was pure fiction...
and it's not "also corrected you", if the Cavs wouldn't have payed lux tax during 14/15 (which was my mistake), they would have never payed repeaters tax in 2018... would they?

But then, you haven't answered my other question before, so here it is again:

"Does the Cavs paying the repeaters tax once, means to you that the Golden State will be paying forever here after?"

...200M of taxes per year? ...are you serious?

If they loose the finals to the Raptors, they go under the lux tax roof next season... anything else is nonsense, utter and pure nonesense!

Forever?

No.

For as long as they are able to contend for a title?

Yes. I believe they will. Just like Gilbert would have been willing to do.

They won't have KD next season.

If they loose to the Raptors this season and given that many teams are expected to merge as being contenders next season that would most probably be even better than the Raps, GSW will move under the lux tax roof...

Durant's injury goes far more than first sight to affect the league's future...

In this order of importance:

1. One of the league's top~5 and most exiting to watch players, faces a career ending threat coming with his injury, while he still has many years left in his career..

2. Injury comes at the title finals, which coud affect the outcome and collapse the team's up to now domination.

3.KD ewas assumed to hit free agency this season and join another team with hopes to contend because of his integration to the roster.

4.The financial consequences for GSW could be huge since KD is now expected to accept his player option for next season, but not play and still hit free agency after.

5. The teams that have put all their future hopes and policies on signing KD, are now "without a future"...

Anything else you may think and add that could be helpful is welcomed... please keep trolls out of this...
It's a win for the Warriors in some respects because if Durant takes his option and waits to be a free agent next year, then the Warriors chances next year in the finals is better because replacing KD with another all star like him is going to be difficult considering that the Warriors still will have to give Thompson a max contract deal and be on the hook for KD. That however guarantees them another run like this year - so, I am not feeling sorry for the Warriors at all

Who the hell is going to pay him that much money to rehab? He's probably not playing next season if it's as bad as they say. Look at what happened to Cousins who faced the same thing?
KD is stupid to decline his option - flat out stupid

They might not have KD next season.

But, the point is it is up to KD. Because GS will be willing to pay both.

No...

If KD exercises his PO, they are just in a more difficult position than if he doesn't...
They will then have to either find a way to dump his salary, or trade him for the return they want and let Thompson walk...

Things are much easier if KD walks into free agency this off season... They can then eithet resign Thompson to a max and dump either Iguodala's or Livingston's salary... or risk a bit more and trade Thompson for two (cheaper) young talents (say Thompson for Tatum + J. Brown ~ this is just an example, there many other similar)...

In any case, if they loose the title to Toronto, they'll move to a partial and quick rebuilt that brings them below the lux tax line while staying a playoff team (which shouldn't be difficult to do in the all the more weakening west).

If he takes a long game term max deal from another team, then no he isn't.
The only team dumb enough to do that is New York - Most teams will want to see how that progresses. I could see most teams waiting til the end of the summer to be wanting to talk to him easily. If I remember correctly - he has to decide pretty fast and has no way of knowing if there will be anyone wanting to talk to him about a long term deal. His best option is to take that last year and win one more title

Yeah, none of that is happening but thanks for playing

Yes... It is the most probable scenario for KD... Chicago would be my first bet to be willing and offer him a supermax if he walks into free agency.

KD might leave.

There is a 0% chance GS moves Klay, Curry or Dray in a salary dump next season.

Told you before... your dad doesn't pay the bill, that's why you imagine the fiction scenarios you do... When you wake up to reality, you'll "see the light".

As I said... I believe this is the most possible scenario too... But they'll have to dump either Livingston's or Iguodala's contract.

So far nothing you have predicted has ever actually happened. You're like 0 for 4. This won't be your first success.
