The fuck are you blathering about now? The luxury penalty will be significant because they're in the repeaters bracket. In the end, it's up the the Warriors ownership if they want to pay it. Meaning, they could re-sign all of their guys if they want. Stop trying to derail every single argument that you're losing.
Right....sure, seems like a lot but billionaires with an extreme will to win might be willing to spend whatever it takes.

Pretty sure Gilbert spent roughly the same amount in tax over a 3-4 year period with Lebron than every team COMBINED.

Possible Lacob (or maybe Ballmer or Cuban?) would do the same.

There are people here suggesting that the ownership is prepared to stay in the repeaters bracket for ever, losing some 200M more for each and every season the organisation is having, while they can go below the lux tax for only one season and then back in and save the 200M that are wasted...

It's clearly a conversation that is delusional for some to suggest that the organisation should follow a cuicidal for their future policy... that's what it is... cuicidal.

No he didn't, he never payed a penny in repeaters tax. It's only lux tax he ever payed.

The point is, Gilbert paid well over $100 million in luxury tax from '16 to '18 and was more than willing to keep paying whatever tax was needed as long as LeBron was willing to be there.

They only went below the tax line because LeBron left.

Golden State will only drop below the tax line once they can't contend anymore. And they aren't not at that point yet, with or without KD.

How do you misspell "suicidal" twice?

Regardless, it's up to the ownership if they want to spend that much money. Durant's likely leaving anyway. But if he doesn't and they continue to win, than that's on ownership how long they want this ride to go on. It's also going to be difficult to maneuver three all-star players and their contracts and jump in and out of the luxury tax.

And in any event, I'll put it in bigger and bolder letters on what your initial argument was - You said the Warriors can't sign Klay to a max and offer KD a super max.

Got a point Heatles. I think as a Lakers fan that Klay should go sign with the dumpster fire known as the LA Lebrakers!

Dan Gilbert's refusal to pay for a GM is mindboggling

The Cavaliers had a massive $121 million payroll in 2016-17 and face a $45 million luxury tax bill on top of that. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love aren’t cheap, and re-signing Tristan Thompson, Iman Shumpert, and J.R. Smith in recent years got quite expensive. Cleveland will begin triggering the oppressive repeater tax in 2017-18, which will increase its inevitable luxury tax bill an additional 44 percent.

(The repeater tax enters the picture when a team has triggered the tax in three of the four previous seasons. This is Year 3 of the tax for Cleveland, so it has not yet been triggered. If the Cavaliers go one dollar over the tax next year — and they will — the repeater will be triggered for both 2017-18 and 2018-19.)

They went over both years.

They actually stayed above the cap this season and are projected to do the same next year.

That's what I said, because the ownership will never do it.

If KD exercises his PO they are in deep shit... Only way they can get out of it, is if KD rejects the option, then resign Thompson and then finda way to dump Iguodala's or Livingston's contract... If KD exercises his option though, the only way to do the same is if they come up with something that dumps his salary too...

not sure it's in the SportsHoopla bookie, but odds 455-1 you admit you were wrong here.

If you are willing to put up $45,500 it's an easy $100 for someone.

Ok... I thought the Cavs didn't pay lux tax during 14/15 and was wrong... It means they payed the repeaters tax in 17/18 (only) and not this season again as you said (and was wrong).. Does this mean to you that the Warriors will be paying it for ever?
