what the fuck are you talking about?

call him a dumbass more like it

Not all that smart. Competitor. Warrior. Laying it out for the franchise. Literally Willis Reed but with bigger balls.

I actually feel sorry for you and how your kind of fandom doesn't have this in it. Free country and all, you can be any kind of fan you want, for any reason...but the kind you are is missing out on some cool shit

Bob Myers in tears at the presser. Looks like an Achilles out 9 months.

Don't you ever.call him a cupcake again. Dude is a badass
-guy has calf injury

-guy is not ruled out for all of the semi-finals where Kerr gives updates on a game-to-game basis

-guy is said to have practiced and is coming back

-guy tears his achilees

what part of this exactly makes him a bad ass? I would argue more of a dumb ass if he tried to come back from an injury too early

a calf injury that was described as minor at the time is a LOOOOOOONG way from an Achilles tear.

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant has been diagnosed with a mild calf strain. Durantwill be re-evaluated next week, meaning he is surely out for the Warriors Game 6 against the Houston Rockets, as well as a potential Game 7.

I mean, I feel horrible for the guy, but trying to make Durant a hero because he tried to play over a month out from having a calf strain is hardly the stuff of heroes.

the guy had bad luck and tore his achilees.

He tried to play in an NBA Finals game after not touching a basketall for over a month and probably going through one half-assed practice.

If I was a doctor that cleared him- right or wrong- i would be polishing my resume right about now. Whoever the Golden State doctors are will probably all be on the breadlines tomorrow morning.

He is a hero, he took a risk he didn't have to, for the fans, for the team. The rest of this is spot on.

he was month out from having what was originally diagnosed as a mild calf strain and was cleared by the doctors

if he didnt play he would have been humiliated- ESPECIALLY when there are reports like the one that started this thread, namely:

Sources say there was a very real hope that Durant would be able to play in Game 4, to push through in much the same way that Thompson, Cousins, Iguodala and Looney have done of late. When that didn't happen, and when they saw their season compromised more than ever without him after they'd grown hopeful of his return after seeing him on the court, the irritation grew in large part because they simply didn't understand why he wasn't there.
Warriors officials aren't running from the reality that there's frustration among some players, but they're also quick to point out that trainer Rick Celebrini – not Durant – is making this call. And until Celebrini gives Durant the go-ahead, his long and painful stretch of absences will extend into this pivotal Warriors summer where his free agency future remains unclear.

OK you're right. KD can leave so we can get a couple bench guys. You're a genius.

So, can a team afford two super max and a max contract? That's 100% of the cap on 3 players, and they'd still have Green and Iguodala on the books for fairly large salaries. Right now, including luxury and both max contracts, they are looking at almost a $350M payroll.

A. Kawhi is playing with a hurt knee for weeks now

B. A ton of Golden State players are also playing hurt including Iggy and Klay who is playing with half a hamstring, Looney, Cousins etc... NO ONE is healthy right now after 7 months of basketball

C. Durant was CLEARED to play

D. His teammates were starting to get pissed he was not playing BEFORE this game

E. I certainly thought hed be back long before this game as Kerr was giving game to game updates as far back as the semi-finals

F. I would be more prone to think that the inactivity period led more to a torn achilees than anything. Sitting on your ass for a month and then trying to play NBA basketball in the most intense environment in the NBA Finals is like trying to go from 0 to 150 in a Ford Taurus with no oil in the engine.

what do you dispute that report? I think it seems very likely guys were getting irritated with Durant who was originally diagnosed with a mild calf strain 32 days ago and has been reported to have one foot out the door already.

You see Klay playing with half a hamstring, Looney playing even though the original diagnosis was that hed be out the rest of the playoffs, Cousins trying his best to gut it out, Iggy playing even though hes more cooked than a Thanksgiving turkey etc. etc.......not to mention Kawhi playing on a bum knee for weeks and absolutely NO one on either team being anything less than beat to shit.

And then Durant is out for 32 days with a calf strain, is cleared to play, and somehow you call that HEROIC? lol, gmafb. Its what everyone else in this whole series is doing. Durant had some bad luck- or some bad doctors or a combination of both.

Does anyone think the Knicks are LESS likely to offer him a max contract know? I sure dont. There are probably 7-10 players in the league that could have half their legs sawed off and still get max offers when they hit free agency.

If Kevin Durant, achilees or no, told the Nets or Knicks or CLippers, OR WHOEVER- id still like to come and sign a 4 year max, the offer would be on the table in half a second.

For whatever reason the appearance of bad doctors seems to follow this guy. Remember in OKC where he had to have multiple surgeries for the same thing before it got fixed.
