I would have been pleased with a second. Never would have thought a first and second next year.

KC should get credit along with Schnieder for any future success.

I can't believe how Seattle fleeced KC this bad. "F" KC the rest of the NFL should be saying. They just allowed Seattle back into the race a year earlier.

I really do love this trade but before I give this an A+, they have to hit with these two picks or trade back to get more picks and hit on those.

Unless there is a player they love when picking in the 1st? I could see them trading back on both. Certainly one of them.

My gut feeling which is usually wrong is they trade the 21st pick and move back into the later part of the first round then trade that for more picks and keep the 29th pick and draft either an edge rusher to replace Clark or a Safety. I'm thinking you are probably correct on trading back on both the 21st and 29th.

I have reservations about a guy who is fine with committing any felony. The DV stuff, who knows exactly what happened. You don't often see investigating officers publicly criticizing the prosecutor though, so that's a bad look. Whether Ifedi deserved it or not is irrelevant, you don't go sucker punching your teammates. That's just what shitty people do.

I get reservations about him and I don’t blame you. But the incident with that female reporter I really don’t fault him as she unnecessarily attacked him. I won’t blame someone ever for standing up for himself even though he could have handled it better. But like I said if it were a dude reporter no one would’ve said anything but since it is a female male athletes are just suppose to take it and not reply. I don’t condone sucker punching Ifedi but from reporters talking about it really wasn’t a big deal or even a legit sucker punch.

I get your reservations and all that but I think he has redeemed himself or at least behaved well enough to get off the POS list. Not on the choir boy list but he shouldn’t be still tagged a POS IMO.

This draft like many could go so many ways in the first round alone. So much talent on the DL side, TE, WR and QBs regardless of their perceived talent could possibly steer the course on who's available at 21 or 29? Could get a huge value pick you can't turn down.

BB with 12 picks. Like normal I have no idea which way he'll go. So many options. Especially considering almost their entire rookie class was on IR for the entire season. There's lots of potential in some of them.

12 picks... DAM that's a lot of picks... This latest deal still only gives us 5 .... But 2 being in the first round is a good thing..

Six of them in the first three rounds. So who knows what BB will do? But like most years I'm sure I'll be left scratching my head.

i dont get it from KC end. Yes hes very good, yes he fills a huge need. Yes they are all in because they have 3 years of mahomes on rookie deal. But last year was a CAREER year. not his norm. Hes young, could still be improving. BUt thats alot of picks, and alot of money, your paying for his career YEAR, not his CAREER

There must have been a lot of suitors for KC to give all that up

The female reporter thing is definitely 4th on the list of shitty things he's done, you're right, but it's just another thing to add to the list. The Ifedi thing, from what I read, was Clark legitimately flying in out of nowhere and blasting him in the face. Whether Ifedi "deserved" it is irrelevant - real men just don't do that.

think they just went for it.
The only other team I was hearing in the rumors was the Jets but they were strangely enough too high up in the draft to make a trade offer. According to the trade value chart, what the Chiefs gave up was the equivalent of something like the 18th overall pick. Jets probably would've had to have traded down twice just to get Clark or they might have had to give up a future 1st round pick which since we're talking about the Jets is still probably way too much to give up.

Nugget:

The Chiefs view Clark as the 2nd best EDGE in the NFL (behind Mack presumably)
Yikes. I know Veach is high on him but thats just not true. By my count he is the 3rd best in the AFC West currently with the potential of being 4th or 5th best in a couple of years depending on Chubb and who gets drafted.

BB has proven to be pretty dam good at spotting talent.... 6 picks in the first 3 rounds is golden...

Chiefs are rolling the dice that the deal will put them over the top for next year... they probably figured he's better than any passer rusher they could land in the first round and he won't need any development time... From a money standpoint though, MAN, they paid a a lot....
