I didn't say there were no side effects, there obviously are. But if you just quit smoking pot one day after years of smoking, you aren't going to die or go through physical withdrawals. Try quitting nicotine cold turkey, or an opioid based drug. You could literally die.

Well, physical side effects of quitting a controlled substance is the definition of "withdrawal". Just because they are not as severe as other drugs... that doesn't mean they aren't physical withdrawals. That would be like saying "drinking a pint of light beer can't compare to drinking a pint of wild turkey 101. Therefore, light beer isn't alcohol."

It is the most simple thing. It would be a seamless improvement to the NFL for several reasons.

However, I'm still not shedding any tears for young millionaires who can't put down the pipe while it is banned.

The rule is idiotic and the player that breaks the rule is idiotic. That can't be argued IMO.

Agreed... I think it is stupid that the NFL tests for it. However, you're being paid millions to live the dream and play a kids game for a living. The trade off is you have to go along with a silly rule and lay off the grass for half of the year - for what will likely be somewhere between 2-8 years of your entire adult life. I'm not saying you shouldn't voice your opinion about why it's a dumb rule and try to change it... but to get busted doing it? Despite signing up for the gig? I simply cannot feel sorry for you.

I've heard drinkers and smokers claim that back in the day.....I always found both statements beyond ridiculous, but some actually believe it......Until their 2nd DUI.......

I'm not saying I agree with them because I dont even drink. It sounds ridiculous when you read it but what they are trying to say is, "When I'm buzzed I pay a lot closer attention to driving well so I dont mess up then when I'm not under the influence."

Only a stoned person without their wits would think that. You are a hazard to yourself and those around you if you are driving under the influence of anything. I'm not trying to demonize you because I believe you when you say you are not over the top stoned and just a "little buzzed" but it's still true even if only a little.
