So even with the lure of south Beach they've done this once......just like the cavs.
and without a doubt a lot of that was Wade--- if Wade is not there- adn there is no other star to join, Miami would have NEVER gotten LeBron

which brings me back to my original point- stars are what drives the league and teams to winning. No one is going to Miami right now- without a star there- they might as well be playing in the Siberian Wilderness.

For the most part, you need stars to draw other stars- or at least cap space to bring in multiple stars at one time.

LeBron did not go to Miami because it was Miami- he went there because Wade was there and they had the cap room to bring in him and Bosh.

it does make me feel good that the Cavs are in far better shape than the Heat

Yeah, those Spurs teams Miami faced were real scrubs. And the OKC team Miami faced and beat had 3 future league MVPs (KD, Westbrook and Harden) on it.
Did anyone say they were scrubs? You think they were on GS' level?

And that's without the lure of South Beach.

Done what?
Heat have signed numerous top FA's , or gotten through trade.
That doesn't guarantee championships.

Cas were NOT even planning on James returning, hence the Blatt hiring.
Cavs success is totally correlated to lotto balls.[/QUOTE]
Cavs were hoping to sign a top FA and Lebron was one of the targets. Why else would they clear all the cap room.

Who were the other top FAs acquired in trade for Miami....with their South Beach advantage?

Great news!
The Prince of Provo, The Name, Jammin' Jimmer's back in the NBA. About damn time.

:hammer:

Hope the Suns don't expect him to play D. Cause he can't.

I hope Jimmer goes for 40 a game and then the Knicks give him a max contract. Ideal situation TBH.

The Spurs in 2013 and 2014 were definitely on the Warriors level. Especially when you factor in that the Spurs have a significant coaching advantage in Popovich.

There was no serious expectation to land any of the past few.
Both sides just kicking the tire.

Fact is players love lots of things about South Beach area.
It wont be long....

MAYBE the 2015 Warriors- the year Love and Kyrie got hurt.....but without a doubt not even CLOSE to the Warriors once they landed Durant.

My mistake....didn't mean to say trade as obviously FAs aren't traded. Who were the top FAs acquired by Miami?

I obviously meant via FA but that was my error saying in trade. Yeah...couldn't think of any. Forgot about Zo.
