Eagles want to trade Bennett

The stupidity here is amazing. Who have the eagles lost so far of significance from their starters? I keep seeing the number thrown out of 17 fa's or whatever. Most of those are role/backup/st players. The core is still in tact.

Foles is the only one who you could bring up and that's a situation that was impossible to keep as was. No team in the league can pay 2 QBs starting money so the eagles were losing one anyway, no matter their cap situation. They got lucky the last 2 years to have the qb situation they did. 99 out of 100 times a team's starting qb goes down its season over cause the reality is you cant pay starter money to 2 QBs. If you want to argue they kept the wrong one, ok. But, they didn't lose Foles because of THEIR cap situation. They lost Foles because of the NFL's cap rules.

I obviously subscribe to the motto “In Bill I Trust” but this trade has potential disaster written all over it.

First, Bennet is already saying he wants more money.

Second, he’s a big personality that I’m not sure will fit well in that locker room. James Harrison hated the pats but once he got there he embraced it. I don’t see Bennet doing that.

Third, now his brother wants to play with him. Those two together in that locker room concerns me.

Fourth, (and I don’t know how true this is) but it’s been reported that Bennet was more concerned with getting sacks than playing the run. If BB uses him as a situational pass rusher that’s fine but I’m thinking he’s gonna want more out of him.

Bennet is/was a fantastic player. His personality fit in perfect with the Seattle locker room. That’s not a knock on Seattle. They just had a room full of guys who personified the “Legion of Boom” mentality. I’m just saying the Pats locker room is a different mindset. It’s “Do your Job”.

WRONG! They had Foles ORIGINALLY on a one year team option. They re-did his contract (a genius cap move I suspect) and made it a mutual option giving Foles the chance to buy out of it.

Wrong again about jimmy G!

The pats offered him a contract worth about 18M per year to be the backup with a bump in pay when Brady retires. The reason he turned it down was he wanted to play and nobody could commit to when that would be. He figured he was in his prime and was only gonna be in his prime once and wanted to play.
