From the "Yikes" department...

Jim Boeheim struck and killed a man walking on an interstate last night. All involved were sober and apparently Boeheim was dodging another car that was dodging the vehicle that had just been in an accident and was stopped in the middle of the road - which belonged to the man who was killed.

Sounds terrible all around.

So to recap. We need funds for the wall. Because rapists are getting in. And Mexico will pay for it. But also, we are already building it. But i'll shut down the government over it, even though I can fund it in other ways. But we need this wall, which we are already building by the way. And its an emergency now, even though immigration is down and it wasn't an emergency the last 2 years. But now it is. And also it's a humanitarian crisis. the people fleeing violence will be helped when they get to a wall because... well. Anyhow, it's humanitarian. Okay, so we have a compromise and it was less funding than I wanted. But that funding was a victory by the way. Tremendous victory! A victory nobody else would have had. But we need an emergency wall. A wall we are already building and making great progress on.

Got it?

Oh man, that is a pretty tasteless Tweet.

Just make sure if you respond you don't call the poster Mr. Pizza. He didn't go to Papa John's University for 7 years and get his doctorate in toppings to be called mister.

I did a quick look at that and thought it stated Freud host and was about to ask is there something you know about him that rest of us casual posters don't?

When I was posting regularly before I took a break, we’d play Family Feud in the I’m bored threads and he would be the host, per se.

And I do A LOT less kissing than Richard Dawson did. ;)

I've followed that case closely. I'm barely 1/2 mile out of that district, so it's close to home in a very literal sense.

Writing was on the wall and he knew it. Even if we believe that they missed the red flags unintentionally, I think the GOP realized it was far too damaged in this case and pulled their support. Without that, he knew he had no future.

Walk away now and - if it wasn't unintentional - avoid the much more severe consequences.

It's an embarrassing situation for my state but I think that we got it right, even if it took a long time.

One of the good things I see coming out of this is that there finally seems to be more of a bi-partisan push to eliminate gerrymandering. Dems did it while they were in power and it was wrong. Repubs do it now and it's still wrong. But they're losing some of their control so we're in the squishy middle where the next round could be more of a toss up, so neither party wants to take a chance. And I'm ok with that.

As the US national debt reaches $22 trillion, one man has an idea to bring that number down slightly.

Ian Hammond has started a Change.org petition calling for the US to sell the state of Montana to Canada for $1 trillion, and the idea is attracting a lot of attention.

The petition has garnered over 11,500 signatures as of Wednesday evening, and Hammond has continued to raise the signature goal as it keeps surpassing each one. The current goal is 15,000 signatures.

The petition makes the case that “We have too much debt and Montana is useless,” adding, “Just tell them [Montana] has beavers or something.”

Lol! Pretty sure the Canadian government would do their due diligence and...

Do they have snowboarding in Montana? It'll give Trudeau a good place to go back to his pre-politics career as an instructor after he loses the fall election.

/If he makes it to then
